The young boy was deciding whether staying put in class was ever a good idea. Which was why he was difficult when ever someone said to stay home. Because he didn't want to be the son of heroes who just sat on the sidelines and did nothing. Even though he'd always lived in Storybrooke there was something new to see each and every day. Homework was trivial, and he had always gotten it done, even when he'd had study hall. It was usually done by the point he had that particular class. It was a foreign concept to stay put when he knew he wasn't wanted there. Most of the children were friendly but there were some that just weren't. And of course being the son of the mayor, it was hard. He hadn't known what would happen when he and his mother brought his father home. To Storybrooke. There was some things that happened in New York that he did not regret. But at the same time there were just as many things about it that were good. Learning about his father had been one of those things. Unlike his family members who seemed all too keen on staying in Storybrooke, mostly because they'd had no other choice, he worried about his future. Of what would happen when he got older. Jobs were limited in town. What was he going to do, leave town to work and come home on weekends? Would at that point his family go back to the Enchanted Forest if they could? There were so many questions. Questions he didn't have answers to.
What choice did he have when most if not all of his family was stuck here? He knew there were consequences to each and every choice that was made. Still, he felt guilty about a lot of things, like why his father....was willing to sacrifice it all for not just him but for everyone? People he barely knew, or liked. He never understood it, though his mother had explained that he did it to save them, to save him. So he was a hero. Creativity was always an outlet he liked to explore more of.
He'd been artistic, drawing, writing. Any creative outlet he could use, he did. Perhaps that was why his mother had wanted to take the Book away from him when she had wanted it to, before the curse was broken? Things here in Storybrooke were changing all the time.
He knew he should go to school and get the kind of education that perhaps his parents hadn't had themselves. But in the grand scheme of things there wasn't enough time for that right then. After all time, like everything else was fragile. And something that no one could ever guarantee. Not even those with the most power could--like his mother or even Rumple, his grandfather. Still hard to imagine that but alas, his family tree was complicated. There was always consequences. Something he'd learned in his short life.
There was no telling what would happen now, but he would get to the bottom of all this. "Right so Pan wanted me dead because he wanted ot be immortal? Dad, selfish doesn't even begin to cover what that--being did. Pan's an idiot. No one can live forever. Not without consequences and there's nothing that's worth that price. Even I know that and I'm not that old! I have a feeling whatever it is, isn't good. Something's coming, I know it. I just don't know how." He said softly as he didn't like it. It was never a good omen when something like this seemed to be coming their way. He trusted his father but he knew he needed to open up to him. But how could he, with where they were at.
But he did know there were similarities between him and his father. Both had the pain behind their eyes, of the hurt and the unwanted feelings, that didn't seem to go away on its own. Yet for once in his life he wasn't afraid. Because he knew that now, there was no telling what would happen and what wouldn't. He had more than enough help now, with his whole family being back where they were supposed to be, together.
