The Evil Queen
Regina Mills
PERSONALITY As she had longed for freedom, for making choices that were her own. But, instead was forced for a life that she did not want. With her mother's teaching and prodding she became a darker force than she had once been, a darkness that only grew with the death of the one she had once loved, Daniel. As a young woman, of course. She had always had been strong, and assertive in everything she did. As hard as it is sometimes to use the power to her own goal, to her own advantage, at least until she had Henry. And to protect herself she had her magic, and it wasn't easy to let it go. To let faith in things slip away. She had her own code, and when she believes in something she doesn't give it up easily. She stands by her actions and her decisions, until the end. She isn't an idiot because she can be quite cunning when she wants to be, and to use others for her own advantage. She often tries to plan ahead but that sometimes causes more problems than it does solutions. As long as Henry believes in her she believes that anything is possible. Growing up she had been afraid of a lot of things, of the magic that her mother had possessed especially after what her mother had done to Daniel. It caused her to think irrationally. She used to think that she was the one that had the most to lose, and as a result sometimes reacts in a way that isn't very regal. She can be indecisive when she doesn't know what the right path is, though over time and experience she does tend to react better in a more mature manner. As a young girl she had never sought to hurt anyone else, but after Daniel's death she cared little about it. And ended up succumbing to the power that magic that Rumple taught her. That the darkness consumed her in more ways than one. Demanding respect instead of earning it. The people that she sought respect from was both Rumple and that of her mother. But, worrying about that sometimes kept her doing from the right thing. She longs to prove that she is not just who she once was, to be more than just the "evil" queen that Snow called her. She hopes to be a better mother, someone that is better than those who claimed to have made her who she was. She wants happiness for herself. And the only thing that scares her the most is the idea of losing Henry. Not just to Emma but from fate itself. Though she also fears becoming just like her mother, and letting the magic corrupt her past the point of no return. She also fears losing the memories of Daniel and what they had been, though hopes that for him he has found peace in wherever he was. Some of the things she enjoys, are horse riding, and working as the mayor, to bake. Though she also enjoys being looked up to, and to be in control. What scares her, though is losing that control though it's not her biggest fear. She dislikes being alone, having been that way for more than she could ever know. She hates the idea of being without her powers but alas, wishes to be better. With or without that dark power. HISTORY So many years ago, a woman by the name of Cora Mills had married a man named Henry, whether there was love in that union, it was unaware. Cora had of course always treated the man with disdain as it were. The moment that she was born, she was introduced as Regina. The child would grow up like any, under the dictating rule of her mother. The two never really saw eye to eye.Her mother, wanted more for her than she wanted for herself. She and her father were often caught with her mother's rules. Her father couldn't help her. Though he tried to make the situation as best it could be. Her father, had always accepted and seen what she could be. The love between the two was unconditional. But when her mother wanted something, that was it. There was no say in the matter. Years would pass until she became a young adult. Even still her mother had decided what she was to do and what she was to be. Pushing and prodding her into a life of becoming a queen. Even though at the time she was unaware of it. She and a stable boy named Daniel had met during a time when she hoped to escape her mother's rule and ride her horse, something her mother always disapproved of. But she longed to be free and to make her own choices. Devastated, she ran to find Daniel to try and figure out her next move. They had planned to leave, but then Snow found them kissing. And after she found the young girl, she explained that she loved Daniel, not the girl's father. And the girl was sworn to secrecy. That she'd never reveal the truth. Of course things did not turn out that way. She later found out that Snow betrayed her, and told Cora about Daniel. And because of that, Daniel was killed in front of her. And while she could have made the young girl upset by telling her that because she told the secret that Daniel died, but instead had just said that he had run away. Perhaps she was trying to spare the young girl's feelings. The bond between the two girls was difficult. There were moments when she was happy with her step-daughter but most of it was just fleeting feelings here and there not to mention faked. Most of the time she imagined killing the girl in several ways. But it was when King Leopold was killed, but she tried to comfort Snow the best way she knew how. But she still wanted the girl dead. So she hired the Huntsman (Graham), to kill Snow White for her. Someone who had no compassion. She wanted him to take the heart of Snow White and bring it back to her. But when it didn't happen she figured she would have to take matters into her own hands. She had trained with the Dark One, learning everything she could from him, so long ago. And because of that had a penchant for stealing hearts. And making the lives around her as miserable as her own. "I may be the queen but alone in that palace, I feel like the queen of nothing. Anger was all I had, what would I be without it?" Her heart was small and darkness was growing to it. With Tinkerbell, that fairy was quite a nuisance at the time. Stepping in and trying to tell her all she needed was love. That she needed to meet a man with the lion tattoo. But she had been so afraid that she just couldn't. Instead of embracing a new hope, a chance to love again she stuck with the darkness. Never knowing what could have been. With all the horrible things that she was about to do, killing so many people...it became natural as did her magic. She loved the feel of creating nothing but terror. It did not phase her with ending someone's life with a fireball. Because she had no love of her own she had not felt concern for others'. All of whom she killed were mainly people who upset her or aided in Snow White's treachery. In the end no matter what she tried, nothing ever seemed to work out quite the way she hoped for. She wanted to end Snow's happiness, just as much as her own life. Which was exactly what she wanted more than anything in the world. Still, she took a curse from Rumpelstiltskin. The curse required something that would send her down a path of self hatred. It required killing someone that she loved with her whole heart. Her father. Killing her father she had taken the heart. Enacting the curse caused a purple cloud to form, soaring over the land. She had of course threatened Snow white and her new husband Prince Charming that she was going to destroy their happiness. And that of the entire kingdom's and that was exactly what she did. The curse she enacted would take them to a new land, to a new town called Storybrooke. It was here where at first that things were exactly as she wanted them to be. And for the first few days, it was. She got to witness people living their false lives. People who didn't even know the truth. But of course, years would pass and that hole that Rumple said she'd have with killing her father had come to pass. She wanted a baby. And he would find her one. A small boy who was three weeks old. A boy that she would go to adopt, a boy that she would call Henry Daniel, after her beloved father and true love. And at first she had been scared, because he wouldn't stop crying. She thought about sending him back but decided she couldn't do it. He would become her little prince, the only person who would love her. The only one who would believe in her. Their relationship was not exactly easy. Because she had to keep up pretenses. Yes, she wanted to keep him as close as she could, even if it meant she had to make him think that he was a bit crazy. She didn't want to lose him. And in the end she almost did, when he found his birth mother, Ms. Swan. It was because of her son that she wanted to be a better person, to have faith in herself the way that her son did. It took a bit of work, to make her son see the good in her. And that was what caused her to change, she would do anything for herself. At first she thought holding her son close to her would keep him there, to make him love her. But then had come to realize that holding him so close wasn't going to make him love her. So with that in mind she let him go with David, his grandfather. It didn't matter, nothing did. All she had at this point was Henry. Nothing else mattered, as she felt that she was entirely alone. She had always believed that evil wasn't born that it was made. There were things in her past that she regretted, she always feared that she would be forever evil. Never able to find love for herself, never to see the good in the world. Ironic though it had been, she had never wanted to hurt people, not from the beginning but now, now she couldn't stop herself. Even if she no longer killed someone, there were other ways in which to hurt them. She tried to be the better person, even though it wasn't easy. During a time when they were forced back to the Enchanted Forest, she didn't know what to think. Henry was gone, as she had given him and Emma a new start, in which they would never have been separated. But she couldn't stop herself as she found herself with Snow White, and they were heading toward the castle that she once lived in with Snow and King Leopold. It was during this time she also had a run in with Robin Hood, unbeknownst at first that he was the man that Tinkerbell had said was her true love. And they realized that they were dealing with the Wicked Witch of the West from Oz. Once inside the castle she had intended to use a sleeping curse on herself until she realized she had something once more to live for. Someone to destroy. And once she realized that, she lowered the protection spell so that they could bring in their own army. To destroy the wicked witch. And it's then that the wicked witch, her name was Zelena. And that they were sisters. Or rather half sisters. Of course once Zelena disappeared for a while. But that wasn't the only surprise. She would spend a great deal of time with Robin. Her true love according to Tinkerbell. When they made it back to Storybrooke, things were changing. But first she had to stop her sister from hurting friends. From hurting baby Neal, Snow's new son. And she did, by using light magic. And that alone was something that showed she wasn't just a villain anymore. But she'd changed, turning into a hero that her son had always wanted her to be. She and Robin through everything they had been through, fell in love. Including getting to spend time with Robin's son Roland. But that love would be tested in the worst possible way. When Hook and Emma had come back from the past, with a woman named Marian, who just happened to be Robin's long dead wife. To protect her from the curse that was inflicted to her, to help Robin she gave him a map and money. They were to leave town, and saying goodbye to a man she loved, it hurt more than she ever imagined it would. But that goodbye would also be short lived when Zelena whom she thought was dead (had been killed by Rumple), that she had been posing as Marian all the time. What hurt the most was when she went to New York with Emma, to save him. But first she had to have a little insurance since Rumple was in league with Zelena. So she took Belle's heart. Once they had got to New York they found Robin alright. But would it lead her to something she had always longed for? Her true love, someone that always seemed to see the good in her. Maybe they could have their happy ever after, after all. Time would tell. RP SAMPLE It was something she never in a million years had thought she was going to be willing to do. To help the Savior. Hell, when the Savior had initially come to town....Emma. It was a difficult thing to swallow, because of the fact that she was Henry's birth mother. And that last thing she wanted was for her son to leave her. She couldn't handle another loss like that. Especially since she'd tried to become a better person for him. Nothing had been the same since she'd made the curse. Having to kill her beloved father, Henry...the man whom she named her son after. It was strange to think after all the years of hatred against her step-daughter, Snow White, that she could befriend the woman and the family she now had. She had come to the Underworld, not simply because she wanted to but because her son was going. And the last thing she was going to do was allow her son to be there without her to help protect him. Yet coming down here there were challenges too. Challenges like getting a good hold on her magic. The Underworld worked differently with her magic, and it took a while to even get the magic within her to cooperate the way she wanted it to. Just forming a fire ball wasn't as easy as she thought. Of course when she'd initially come down here with Robin, Henry and their friends, she couldn't help but wonder if her mother was here. After all she had watched her mother tragically die. That memory had stuck with her as much as it had when she had taken her father's life into her own hands. Something she deeply regretted. She didn't have to think twice on it. Were both her parents here? Had they both moved on to a better place? Or were they as trapped down there as she currently was? Only difference was that she was alive when they were not. Being in the Underworld, it was eerie to see how it was just like the Storybrooke she had designed when she'd initally done the curse. She'd decided while the others went about their plans of how to get to Hook. She would go to her office, or what was her office. When suddenly she ran into her mother, Cora. As unexpectedly as it was. It didn't seem real until her mother embraced her. It seemed bizarre to her because when she was growing up her mother had been anything but close to her, in the physical sense. So she had her heightened guard up, not wanting to trust anything down here. Not even her own eyes. Her mother had almost always been cold and distant, though she'd known when her mother had died that at least on some level there was love between them. It had been slightly unnerving that her mother had had another daughter and had never bothered to tell her. That she had to find out about having a sister at all from her sister herself. And that was even after she tried to steal Robin away from her. She wasn't close with her sister. It wasn't to say that she didn't try to give Zelena sisterly advice considering what Hades was capable of. Hades did of course have them all trapped down there but she hoped that maybe they could figure out a way. Because she refused to be stuck in the Underworld while she was still technically alive. She wanted to help find captain guyliner. But there had to be a way to do that. Where was Hades keeping him? That had been her purpose for being down here after all. Not to reunite with anyone else. Looking toward her mother she didn't understand what to expect. The family she had was far from perfect. For years she had only had a thirst for vengeance. Watching her mother, she didn't know what to think. Or what to feel. But she had her reasons for being down here and she wasn't going to get sidetracked by that mission. When her mother spoke once more she couldn't help but smirk. "Yes, well as difficult as that is to believe mother, yes. You forget, I am not a child anymore. I know it's not going to be as easy as getting the man out of Hades' lair and going through the river again but it's something that I need to do. I'm not putting my faith in Rumplestiltskin, mother. But he wants to leave as much as the rest of us do. Whether he wants to abandon us down here is left to be seen. I do know one thing I'm not about to let my family down. To leave my friends down here. Yes, Zelena is here, unfortunately." She watched her mother. All she ever wanted was for her mother to see her for her, and to allow her to make choices for herself. As she was hell bent not to let anything get in the way of her happiness, and she wasn't going to stop herself from being happy anymore. |
