PERSONALITY Despite not having the sort of loving environment that a child needs to flourish, she made it through life with little problems. She had started out like most children, naïve and unquestioning. But that soon changed as she grew up around the dragons. Dragons who were like her. There was no doubt that she was one of them, having changed into that form from a young age. She never heard the term "I love you" from anyone. So she didn't believe in it. There were friendships that were formed. Some were a little more volatile than most. As an adult, she was manipulative, dark and dangerous. Everything a dragon should be in order to conquer and destroy. That is until she became pregnant and hatched her own egg. But before she had a chance that moment was stolen from her by none other than two humans. Her child was taken from her before she had a chance to blink. It sent her on a downward spiral. She does have a bit of a temper having gone after both Briar Rose and her young daughter Aurora. The one thing she dislikes more than anything else in the world was being betrayed. For losing her own child because of two stupid humans. She has very few friends and the one she is closest to is Regina. Mentally after years of revenge and anguish she was finally relaxed when she learned of her child's fate through none other than Rumplestiltskin. She learns she has a daughter and finds her. She no longer wants revenge all she wants was her daughter. Her unique abilities allow her to finally reconnect with her daughter and to teach her about how to be this big bad scary dragon bitch. Something she had once forgotten but is able to be once more now that her heart is healed. HISTORY It had been many years ago that Maleficent was first born, and like all dragons came from an egg. Hatched by her own parents. She wasn't left with much in the way of the loving environment. She learned quickly how to adapt to her surroundings. Even in the midst of chaos. Growing up she learned that humans, were the ones who sought to destroy her family. She would spend a lot of time honing in on her skills in various ways, including the magic that was inside of her all along. Turning into a dragon she burned a portion of a land that was scorched into ruins. She was attacked by Briar Rose, and eventually lulls the woman into an eternal sleep. It takes many a year later for a king named Stefan to awaken her. Which sent her into a spiral of emotions, dark and lonely emotions. She began to isolate herself from many other dragons, and others who would seek to help her. She didn't want it. She was an adult at this point and while she had a chance for revenge, when Briar Rose's daughter Aurora was engaged to be married to a Prince named Phillip. She didn't want retribution. She didn't want the vengeance. Even when Regina had sought to make her remember who she once was, by bringing to a tree that she had once scorched with her flames. Regina had thought it would help her to remember who she was and the bad arse she used to be. And although when a tree around them bursts into flames, they're soon attacked by King Stefan and his men. But because it had been many years ago since she'd transformed into her dragon form, it did not go according to plan. But watching as Regina used her fire balls, she finally succeeded in becoming the dragon she always dreamed of being. It caused them to retreat. And of course later on she faces Aurora herself in her bed chambers. And purposefully inflicts a sleeping curse. Though this curse, despite Aurora's warning of her prince coming to save her, she balks at it. As already she had a different plan in mind for Aurora's beloved. It was the last time she would see Regina for a while. But before she left she gave her new friend a small dose of the sleeping curse she'd created. Sending Prince Phillip away would be only too easy. Time continued on, and she was happy for a while. But that happiness, like all things did not last. When she finally is able to create a better home for herself, she finds a stranger in her home. The stranger, known as Ursula. But before she could deal with the woman, another woman and her pathetic excuse for worthless pets popped in as well. And while they had both had invitations to her castle until Rumple crashes the party. It would be the first time the three women were forced to do business with each other and Rumple when he desires something of a curse. One that he swears would give them all, and all villains their happy endings. Once they were all in agreement the four of them travel to Bald Mountain where they can independently use their powers to defeat one obstacle after another to retrieve it. The flames, for example she was able to absorb them into her staff, while Ursula cold get the crystal ball. Once they have that, Rumple of course elects to tell them that he wanted the curse for himself. But before he leaves he lets them face a creature known as Chernabog. Even though it was natural to fight the creature, Ursula naturally saved her once. Down the line she comes up with a plan that will get them all what they want. Their happy endings something that Rumple had once said that they could get. And to get it they needed to take his gauntlet. Though once Cruella had taken Rumple's little maid, and forces her to get a message to him. And they plan to meet at the Demon's Bluff. Once he had arrived, she plans to ask for payment, and alas he denies and strangles her. To which she informs him that she's not alone. And that was when Cruella and Ursula show up. But of course things don't go according to plan and they're left without Rumple's support and therefore must do things on their own. Not that it bothered them a bit. Darkness would always prevail after all. Once back at home, she's in her own castle. The safety of her domain. But she's attacked, and that attack was carried out by someone whom she had never met before. Once she realized someone's taken something from her. They leave, and she is well aware they have stolen it from her. But has no way of knowing where they went. But she had more pressing concerns. Especially when Prince Charming, Snow's beloved, comes to attack the beast. To get an egg. which would be used against her. But alas, she admits the truth that she is the beast that he needs to defeat. And he does, to a certain extent. She decides that she is going to live out her life with her pet unicorn. Something she was able to cherish and hold onto that was simply hers. Annoyed with the failed sleeping curse that Regina had given her, she didn't know what to think when the Queen had come back, desiring the dark curse once more. But unlike the first time when she had been willing to help the woman, she decides against it. This provokes the Queen and even though the Queen finds out that the curse is in the orb in her staff, which was where she kept it. But when the Queen decides she's going to attack her beloved pet, she decides she is going to defend that beloved creature, with everything that she has. Which causes her to be trapped under the chandelier. But believing that she'll be killed, the Queen denies that is going to happen. As after all, she's the only friend the Queen has, as the woman proclaimed. Instead she's left in a dungeon, trapped. And the curse is taken from her. Despite proclaiming to the Queen that it will leave a void in her heart, the woman ignores it, and leaves. But the trap did not hold and she was released, and allotting for time to meet up with Cruella and Ursula which cost them to meet with Snow and Charming so that they could stop the Queen. But, it didn't work. But even when they tell the couple about the Tree of Wisdom that will answer a question asked by only the most valiant of heroes. Though, because they all had a common enemy, the Queen. But alas things didn't turn out at once. And the adventure goes south. Because not even the Charmings could get the answer they sought all because Snow White was pregnant. Unfortunately the path to destroying the Queen fails because Snow and Charming both refuse to compromise their morals to do it. Some time later, she realizes that like Snow she was pregnant. Though she did not remember who the father was, as it had happened in dragon form. So what she knows is she cannot have the baby in her castle and so she burns down a region of western territory after scaring off all who dwelled nearby with her fire breath, and once her nest is prepared. After she lays the egg, she collects plenty of little object for her little one, including a baby rattle. But even despite all the precautions, of the help from Ursula and Cruella to protect her child, it is in vein because Snow and Charming come and steal her child. Promising that they'd get the egg back to her. But it never happens, instead the egg...which had hatched into a small child, and both Ursula and Cruella vanish into the portal because of the spell that was cast by Snow and Charming. But it didn't go without consequences. The egg, her baby was implanted with darkness. She was never to know of the child's fate. What she had, whether a little girl or a little boy. After this the Queen's dark curse takes effect and like many in the Enchanted Forest, she's brought to the world without Magic. Under the clock tower and library, she's enclosed in her dragon form, unable to transform. And while she held the cure to the poison that was in the turnover that Henry, the Queen's adopted son had eaten. She's faced to survive against Emma, the Savior and Henry's birth mother. But she dies after Emma impales her with her fathers sword, crumbling into dust. One would think this was the last that anyone would see of her, but no. It isn't that simple. Emma gets the potion she needs and leaves. Because after all that had happened, she was able to regenerate. Though it took some time. Where she, as the regenerated, undead dragon, goes after Captain Hook. Because the Queen had used him as a distraction to get what she ultimately wanted. But she "dies" again and falls once more into the ashes she had once been. It took Ursula and Cruella who reunited with Rumple to revive her with the potion that contained the Charmings' blood. Although she doesn't care about revealing any truth of the past to the Charmings' child, all she cares about is making them suffer. For as long as she's had to, which was over thirty years. She along with Ursula and Cruella work alongside Rumple in his dealings as to finish what they had initially wanted to do all those years ago. She had wanted revenge on Snow and Charming for what they did to her offspring. She works with the other two and Rumple until Regina joins their team. Even then, she cares not for their little side problems. All she wanted was to see this succeed and then find out what happened to her child. That was her ultimate goal. After some time she gets Rumple to admit what happened to her child. She finally gets her answer when she hands him the rattle that had been with her ever since she lost her child. And he shows her the child, a little girl who was named Lilith who was adopted thirty years previously. After a little run down with Cruella she finds herself in a deep sleep until the woman is killed by Emma. But that is the least of her problems. Once awake she realizes all she wants is now knownig that her daughter is alive that she wants to find the girl. And to do that she's going to have to put her past hatred aside, and ask the Charmings for help. To get Emma to help since she seems to be so good at helping find people.After a little run down with Cruella she finds herself in a deep sleep until the woman is killed by Emma. But that is the least of her problems. Once awake she realizes all she wants is now knowing that her daughter is alive that she wants to find the girl. And to do that she's going to have to put her past hatred aside, and ask the Charmings for help. To get Emma to help since she seems to be so good at helping find people. She only does this when she realizes that Rumple (Mr. Gold) is their common enemy. That he's not the ally she once thought he was. It's during this time that she's told to guard Belle's heart that has been in the mayor's office as insurance. It's there that she has a frank conversation with the Charmings who try and apologize. she rebukes it saying she doesn't need their apology that her daughter does. But a thief steals it on Rumple's behalf making her rather upset. Since Rumple of course had been the distraction. But it didn't matter. Because Emma and Regina come back to Storybrooke with her daughter and for the first time, she's able to spend time with her child. And she realizes she doesn't want to spend what time she has on an old vengeance. That she wants them to have a future where they can be happy. Which Lilith didn't approve of. After Lily has a tantrum (in dragon form since she still wants to extract revenge) she comes to her daughter's side. Telling her that she doesn't mind a little darkness and that she'll teach her daughter how to be a big bad dragon bitch if that's what she wants, she just wants time with her daughter, even a week would make a world of difference.
