Captain Firebeard

He thinks that I'm his true love. A mermaid...a pirate...How could one person be so delusional?" - Darla
Casper Bates, or Captain Firebeard, is a primarily evil pirate who seeks to find himself a lover, specifically a mermaid. He is named Firebeard, because he and his crew have been known to set fire to places after they're done looting. He is quite feared and is ruthless. He will do anything to get to his main objective. However, he has an empathetic past. He advocated for many different things while living in the Enchanted Forest, believing that he could make a difference. After his dreams were crushed, he felt he had a debt due from the people in the world. Casper just wants happiness, despite his selfishness. You can create his past if you want, along with his personality. His face claim is Javier Bardem.
He kidnapped Darla and turned her into a human from being a mermaid for his own selfish wants. She makes it her mission to typically rid of him & to turn back into a mermaid to go back to Neverland. He is controlling and possessive of her and will rarely let her leave his sight. He truly believes that Darla is his soulmate, and has love and care for her, even though he did many terrible things to her.
She wants to see him drowned in the Neversea.

"After Darla's leader died, she became the leader of Delphinum Pod and oversaw all of the security of the area. She became tired of mermaids venturing forth to Neverland's ponds, so she forbade anyone going to where the land people dwell. Eventually, these rules were broken. Young and curious mermaids were getting swept away by sailors into the unknown and she eventually had to deal with the oncoming threat of the two-legged.
Darla eventually was caught in a ship's net and she screamed that if any of the pirates stepped foot on their territory again, they'd be dealing with a threat far larger than her. The captain of the ship had a mysterious potion that contained a curse. The curse made it so any creature, such as mermaids, would be changed into a human forever. He had been looking for a wife, specifically a mermaid wife. He eventually poured the potion onto Darla and it permanently changed her into a human.
Darla was unable to swim back to her pod, which caused her to become helpless. She was stuck being the pirate's wife for a few years until she was able to escape. They were eventually in a place called the Enchanted Forest where she tried to find a way to become a mermaid again. After the Dark Curse hit, she was sent to Storybrooke. "
