Some days ago, Tippetarius had become the shop apprentice of one Rumplestiltskin. It hadn't taken much to learn the running of the shop. Tip already had retail experience out the ass and honestly, there weren't a lot of people who came into Gold's shop. Maybe once or twice a day but there hadn't been any heroic emergencies so they'd been rather devoid of visitors. And they hadn't yet gotten into the magic but Tip wasn't going to push. That would happen in due time. Really, it wasn't the reason he was here. It meant he didn't have to go back to Emperor's New Clothes any time soon and deal with the idiotic people. It meant that he would actually have time to work on the things he wanted to work on.
A quiet shop was a blessing.
As it was, Rumplestiltskin had stepped out for reasons that Tip hadn't questioned and left him alone for perhaps the first time. Tip wasn't nervous. Nothing was going to happen. And anyway, he was pretty much done with the work he'd been assigned for the day. The dusting was done and so on. At the moment, he had snuck out his iPod and dock to listen to music while whittling a new head for an old doll. It was a nice piece of wood and it would work well - especially if he kept the old head to sell with the doll as the original piece.
The song he'd been listening to started to kick in properly and Tip couldn't help but sing with the chorus, gradually getting up to sort of perform for himself, singing into the handle of his knife like a microphone, "Just give me a reason. Just a little bit's enough. Just a second we're not broken just bent and we can learn to love again. It's in the stars. It's been written in the scars on our hearts. We're not broken just bent and we can learn to love again." Yeah, probably not something that had ever happened in the shop before.
