Dionysus
Dionysus
PERSONALITY Dionysus is pretty easy to get along with as long as you're not annoying the crap out of him or trying to kill him. If you're doing any of these things he will try his best to avoid you, and if he can't he'll most likely try to kill you or break you until you get the point he doesn't want to be bothered. To his friends he's kind and will go out of his way to help you, but to his enemies he will go out of his way to avoid you or get rid of you. Whichever one is better, though he usually murders anyone who crosses him too often. He tried the merciful thing too many times and lost too many people in the process. As a Liberator Dionysus uses what every person desires, but is taught to suppress. He believes it's pointless and even dangerous for anyone to suppress their base instincts. He helps people with that release they need. He loves to mess around and play. He can be immature and cruel in this sense, but he never means to hurt anyone's feelings when he's joking. Hurting someone is only intentional when he's out to get you. Dionysus will often seem like he's opening his arms to you, but honestly he prefers to keep new people at bay. In his life he's lost a lot including his wife and many of his closest friends. Often he will act as if you're just another face that he'll forget in an instant. His real self however cares deeply for mortals since his mother was one. As the patron god of theater he can be a very good actor if he needs to be. He loves to party and will often indulge himself in any form of fun he can find. Abilities: As a god his body is more enhanced then a mortals. Being much stronger, faster, and more durable. He also has the power to cause madness, ecstasy, and lower the inhibitions the people around him. He can conjure grapevines and ivy. He can conjure grapes themselves and even turn any drink into alcohol. Since his mother was on fire when he was sewn into zeus he has the ability of pyrokinesis. HISTORY Dionysus was born to the mortal Semele and the King of the Gods, Zeus. Hera was angry with his affair and had Semele killed in fire. Zeus sewed the baby into his thigh keeping him until he was ready to be born. This is why Dionysus is a god and not a Demigod. When he was born he was sent to live with a group of nymphs who cared for him. There he grew as a young boy, many people hearing he was the son of Zeus came to worship him at the mountain. A local Noble, Lycurgus, heard of this and had his army go to the mountain to destroy the child. Dionysus, only a small boy, fled in fear into the sea. There a sea maiden cared for him and eventually he grew into his tween years returning to the world. Dionysus found himself struck with madness by Hera, he eventually fought through it pushing himself back to sanity. He spent years wandering through a desert until he came under the care of a man named Athamas, a king and his wife. They took in the boy learning he was the son of Zeus. There he learned of the grapevine and began making wine from it. His gift was given to many people and it made them happy, taking away their cares even for just one night. He learned to conjure up grapevines on command and even to turn liquid into wine. He threw marvelous parties which attracted mostly women seeking to escape the harshness of their home lives. Fantasia: Dionysus roamed the forest in the night where a great many creatures, animals, humans, whatever was in the area. When they drank of his wine they broke out in ecstatic revelry. He was drunk through the partying and had to be held up by the people with him. They even built him a throne to sit upon, but he was too wasted to even get to it. The party lasted for hours until a thunderstorm hit. Lightning struck the ground where him and his friends were. Dio believed it was Zeus and brought all of those with him to safety. The storm ended soon after and the group resumed their partying through the forest. After Fantasia: In his travels he was met with much opposition. People didn't enjoy the revelry he brought with him and the wild like people who followed him. At times this brought him into fights. He traveled around the Enchanted forest bringing joy and sometimes disruption wherever he went. Pentheus, his cousin, believed he was a fraud. Dionysus caused his family to go mad and tear the man apart. He had tried to kill the god's people too many times. Several of his friends were killed when he attempted to show mercy and they just couldn't back off. Soon he found himself on a small island where he met a beautiful maiden named Ariadne. She was abandoned by Theseus whom she saved from the minotaur. He pretended to love her in order to gain her help then left her behind in the night. The two eventually fell in love and married, she became his immortal bride. He cheated on her once and felt remorse when he saw himself breaking his oath and being no better then Theseus. Lycurgus came for him when he tried to return to his childhood home. He ended up killing Ariadne and in a rage Dionysus ripped out his eyes and locked him in a cave to die. When others came to avenge the people he had killed, Dionysus set their path on fire killing most of them. The rest ran far away. When the curse hit DIonysus was lounging on Olympus. He didn't care for the people in Storybrooke, until he heard that people were coming to storybrooke from the underworld. He immediately went there to see if Ariadne or Semele had come out as well. RP SAMPLE Dionysus hadn't been in town for very long, but he was already pretty confused. It had been many years since he set foot in the mortal realm. He knew what things were from the other gods who told stories, but never experienced them for himself. He had no interest in driving a car or surfing for porn on the internet when he had all the pleasure of Olympus. Sure his family was annoying, but he loved them all the same. Except his crazy uncle, and Hera. The one thing he missed were his maenads. The three pretty girls he kept with him at all times. He couldn't take them home with him, only God's were allowed on Olympus. He was glad where he was being sent held those same three special girls. Thyone, Syleia, and of course his sweet Corona. The three people who made his long life worth while. The wine god walked the small town in clothes he had acquired magically. He saw someone with nice modern clothing and decided to copy the outfit onto his own body. Even in a town filled with magical beings someone with ivy in their hair and his robe would stand out. Least now he looked normal for this day and age. The chill in the air wasn't getting to him as much, but still it was there. He zipped the jacket up as he walked down the road looking for one of his girls. It seemed the cold only seeped through the leather and onto his skin. It didn't matter, he'd find something warmer to wear later. Hopefully whichever one of the girls he found first could help him adjust while he tried to kill his uncle. He'd need a plan too, but when the other gods decided to arrive they could all figure that out together. Dionysus made his way into the park looking around at all the people, but none of them looked familiar. Mostly children playing and the occasional dog walker strolling by. One girl gave him the eyes and he returned it with a wink. He made his way over to where a few benches were and saw a very pretty brunette just sitting there. He smiled when it registered that she was Corona. He materialized on the bench sitting beside her and gave her a warm hug. "Hey princess," He said as he pulled away brushing his hand over her cheek, "I missed you so much." As he spoke one hand began playing with her hair while the other had it's arm around her as if not wanting to let go of her just yet. (from a different ouat site) |
