Things were back to normal.
If normal meant balls-to-the-wall crazy.
Rumple sat behind the counter of his shop, leaning back in an aged wooden chair. Though the sign out front said open, he didn't think anyone would be paying him a visit anytime soon. A glass of scotch sat loosely in his hand, his newly reformed dagger sitting on the counter in front of him. He watched it as though he expected it to sprout legs and walk away, his eyes unblinking. The dagger was proof he really did have the powers of the Dark One back- that he really had used that immense power to get everyone out of the Underworld. It was thanks to him that everyone was now safe and sound. True, he had allowed Hook to die in the first place, but it had been the only way and Hook had been doomed one way or another. Regardless of consuming that dark power, the wound on his neck would have killed him. He had done the man a favor letting him go out a hero, hadn't he?
And yet, there he was, back to the evil Dark One no one could trust. He didn't dare think what Belle was going to say to him. She knew about what had happened in the Underworld, but did she think he was a villain again, same as the rest? Was it the same circle all over again?
The man sighed heavily, downing the rest of his drink before setting the glass down and heaving a sigh. It was early in the morning and he was already drinking. Not that it mattered to the Dark One, but still. He had a business to run, maybe.
And maybe some annoying heroes to justify his actions to at some point, too.
