inside i built a wall,
so high around my heart, i thought i'd never fall
Most of his days since arriving in Storybrooke was consumed with wandering around town. He, of course, could have had applied for some sort of job, but he hadn’t made much of a decision to do so yet. Liam...he was, tired. He had a few connections in town, but those connections linked around to people like Emma Swan, his brother, and regrettably (in some way or another, at the moment), the Dark One. Or Rumplestiltskin. But, Liam had taking his liking to saying “the Dark One” instead. If Liam wasn’t found by the docks, then he was found strolling along the streets, looking at the stores and other public places which weren’t consumed by people of the Underworld. He wasn’t even sure how long things would continue with him feeling like he was dreaming instead of it being reality - everything he felt wasn’t real to him yet - because living for centuries in a blasted place run by a man called Hades wasn’t so pleasant overtime.
Right now, he was simply walking along the sidewalk, hands in his pockets as he literally contemplated about his life. It had been a struggle, but here he was, thanks to magic and all, alive and breathing in a town of people he hardly knew. He might have been a previous Navy Captain, but that was a title he wasn’t so proud of that much longer because it didn’t really mean anything. It was a ways out of poverty and living on the streets, for both him and his brother, and yes, they wanted glory back then, but that had ended in a failure. And Liam...well, he hadn’t attended balls or masquerades. There was no dancing with Princesses or even being remotely close to one. If he was even being honest, he was sort of a hopeless romantic himself - but his first and foremost priority hadn’t been to find love at the time. It was just his brother.
And...now...it was still his brother, but he wasn’t as concerned anymore. Killian had his ship, he had someone who was still fighting for him; he had more of a reason to life if anything. Liam was struggling a bit to find his spot, but he certainly wasn’t going to regret the opportunity of a lifetime to actually live again. There had been an unimaginable amount of times of him wishing he could meet his brother again, and he had, so now...it was more than enough. Living again was more than enough. Liam was just passing by the diner that was owned by Granny (he hadn’t gone in there yet), and decided he would head in. It was better than hanging out in the streets looking like a bloody moron. When he pulled the door open and stepped inside, it was...very different compared to the diner in the Underworld.
