PERSONALITY Everything good, sweet, and pure in this world can be seen in the sparkle of her bright green eyes. Mina Harker was a darling, innocent young woman, who was also highly intelligent and her crave for knowledge could often get the better of her. This is still true in many ways, perhaps slightly less naive knowing more of the world than she perhaps should, but despite all of the tragedy and horror she has faced still retains a sense of innocence. Mina is charming and charismatic. She can light up a room with her humble, amiable, radiant nature. She is quite social, as well as very smart and clever. She enjoys humor and often had the best of times with her husband Johnathan who could make her laugh like no other. Though she has been tempted in a strange way by Dracula the only man she has ever loved is Johnathan. She would die for him, and she desperately wishes to find him again. HISTORY Mina was born Wilhelmina Murray, in The Land Without Color. She grew up with respectable parents and lived a comfortable life. They weren’t as incredibly wealthy as the Westenra family they certainly did more than just get by. Mina was a lady of good standing. She was bright and intelligent and her father had brought her up to believe in hard work, and showed her an appreciation for science, something she would always carry with her. She became a school mistress and worked hard at her job. During the summers when the schools were closed she would visit her best friend Lucy Westenra in Whitby. She, Lucy, and Johnathan were good friends. Lucy being the social climber that she was who always had at least three suitors, or three men she was pursuing, would often drag Mina to said aforementioned parties. Johnathan too was her best friend, sometimes she felt like she understood him more than she understood Lucy, and so the two would go along, following Lucy as she gallivanted around. Once such summer she met Dracula, a man who was quite peculiar to Mina. She had taken a sort of fancy to him, not in the way one is initially attracted to another person, but more of a curiosity. A curiosity of inexplicable things, and she soon fell under his spell. Mina spent many hours with Dracula, they talked of science, history, and life. She had always been close with Johnathan, and perhaps in a strange way, a natural descent, fallen in love with her best friend. Johnathan Harker had always loved Mina from the first moment he laid eyes on her. Mina had thought at the time of their meeting Johnathan was quite handsome but far too reckless, immature, and quite frankly slightly arrogant. He sobered into quite a striking and mature young man however, still with the words that could woo any lady, except for the one he really wanted which was Mina. All this time Mina had been good friends with Abigail Van Helsing. Over the time she had known Dracula she had become ill. It was a case of anemia, easily set upon those with a weaker constitution if they were not getting enough nutrition or iron in their blood. Little did she know, Mina couldn’t remember that is, Dracula had been drinking Mina’s blood. She sometimes had marks on her neck or wrist, and would cover them up with scarves or other such paraphernalia. Dracula, with whatever powers of persuasion he held over mortals had made her believe she needed to, and that they were cuts from other things. Her friend Abigail often helped to nurse Mina on the days when she fell ill. When Johnathan Harker proposed to Mina, she accepted, rejoicing and adoring him. She was truly in love with Johnathan, although her thoughts might be sometimes confused by Dracula, she knew in her heart without a doubt that she loved Johnathan Harker. Dracula enraged by this new captured her fiancée. The spell broken, Mina realizing what Dracula truly is, the monster that he truly was went to Abigail and told her. Johnathan managed to escape Dracula’s castle, and Mina traveled to Budapest to meet him. There she cared for him during his recovery from his traumatic encounter with Dracula and his Brides. In Budapest they decided to marry, Mina loved him and wanted to spend the rest of her life with the love of her life Johnathan Harker. They returned to England as husband and wife, and Mina was now Miss. Mina Harker. Back home they learned that Lucy had died, of an illness stemming from sever blood loss as a result of repeated attacks by a blood-drinking animal. She was killed and turned into a vampire by Dracula. It was then that Mina absolutely knew the truth about Dracula, that he was a monster. Mina and Johnathan joined Van Helsing on her hunt for Dracula. It is because of Mina that the party learn of the Count's plans as she is the one who collects the journals, letters, newspaper clippings and fits all of the relevant information regarding the Count. Mina learns how to fight, she is quite handy with a crossbow. When Abigail disappeared for a long time after a fight with Dracula went very badly, Mina and Johnathan tried to find her together. They managed to get to The Enchanted Forest, where instead of coming across Van Helsing they found Dracula. Their friend Abigail was nowhere to be found. Dracula was out to seek vengeance for Mina’s betrayal and wanted to kill her. He bit her three times, Johnathan managed to intervene. Mina and Johnathan looked as though it might be a battle they couldn’t win this time until…the second curse broke and they landed in Storybrooke. Mina Harker became Scarlett Monroe a very well mannered, kind nurse at the hospital. She has no idea where Johnathan is but she wants to find him. She needs to find him so that they can defeat Dracula together and so that he won’t kill her and turn her into a monster. RP SAMPLE Slowly her eyes fluttered open, and a soft grey sky was pinned overhead dropping tiny flecks of snow that touched her skin. At first this seemed normal. Grey was a normal hue in her land, The Land Without Color. All that stuff about The Enchanted Forest must have been a dream. Mina blinked a few times as her vision came into view. Her body was sprawled awkwardly on the snow. It was as though her hearing took a moment to catch up to her vision. As she peered around she gasped, astounded by the colors, and then by the people running towards her, finally she could make out what they were saying. “Scarlett, Scarlett area you alright?” as though she had always been there. But she was Scarlett Monroe. No, she had to be going crazy, her life as Mina Harker, wife of Johnathan and vampire hunter. This all had to have been a dream. She lived a simple life in Storybrooke as Scarlett Monroe, the nurse. She knew instantly. “Yes, yes, I’m fine….I must have….slipped,” she said as she picked herself up with the help of a few dwarves….wait….what? No, not…..Scarlett, Mina, she was growing increasingly confused. “You’re….” she touched one of the dwarves faces and then suddenly all the memories of her life before and those of this life, it all became too overwhelming. The darkness overtook her again as she crumpled. Scarlett had fainted. |
