Abigail still couldn't fathom the return of so many monsters from the Underworld. She had been stuck here with Dr. Frankenstein...or Whale...whatever she was supposed to call him nowadays. Viktor was fine for her. The curse definitely produced odd names. Lara Stoker? Van Helsing was still ashamed that she was stuck in the curse, and for so long.
It also wasn't fun being in the hospital where she was kept instead of being in on the action. Well, there was only a few doctors and so many patients. And she was the self-proclaimed super genius. It was her fault that they wanted to look at the abnormal bites and the different diseases produced by the foreign monsters.
A few of the bites had already killed some of the civilians. They were her test subjects. Looking at the different affected areas, she could see many different abnormalities. The skin darkened, turned black. Or some people had glowing skin. She was still getting used to that.
Abigail could be using healing magic in order to solve the issue, but there would be no scientific explanation. Perhaps there was no scientific explanation for what was going on. Sort of how magic is almost impossible. She remembered when Viktor used an enchanted heart in order to make the monster. What was dead should have stayed dead.
Death wasn't something Abigail feared, nor saw as something negative. Everyone eventually came to the dramatic ending. Some people would have a glorified burial with tons of people wasting their time around a mound of dirt. This wasn't something she wanted. Funerals were barely appropriate, but mourning is mourning, she guessed.
So, with the number of different patients coming in and disoriented, there seemed to be barely enough time to make any scientific calculations. Van Helsing looked at Viktor and frowned, "What're we supposed to do, Viktor? How are we supposed to get anything done from all of these corpses piling up?"
As she asked Viktor the question, a man ran into the hospital and started to scream. "Run! Run! There's a monster chasing me! Medic! Medic! We need a medic!"
Abigail immediately ran to the man and saw that he was bleeding profusely. The man dropped to the floor and Abigail hoisted him up, making sure that he wouldn't bleed out, "I'd appreciate a little help here, Viktor." If there was a monster chasing him, they'd need to do something fast.
