Though powerful, Dark Ones were still only mortal. The current one was something of an anomaly in the Underworld and had so far eluded inevitable capture. Hades dubbed him a "white whale", waiting for a moment to strike and bring him down to his world for a punishment sorely deserved. If Rumple was stubborn, Hades could be patient. He had eons to wait and the extra time only accumulated more on the Dark One's list of sins. Sins he would later be made to answer for.
However, it wasn't the Dark One that he was made aware of by his faithful minions. As they crossed the threshold each soul became known in the Underworld to be recorded and sentenced. But there was one very interesting soul waiting in Purgatory for him now.
"Welcome, Baelfire, son of Rumplestiltskin!"
Hades put his arms wide in a welcoming gesture. The Underworld was not a pleasant place to be for most but he called it home. His own corner of it was as opulent a space as could be expected, considering. He ushered Bae into it, letting him get comfortable on chairs in his own study. An opportunity like this did not come along everyday and he was intrigued by the possibilities.
"So let me see if I have this correctly. You sacrificed your own life to bring back your father when he otherwise would have been trapped in torment for as long as it took to burn off his sins?"
Which meant, essentially, that death had once again been stolen from the Dark One and he had been denied his white whale.
"And now you've ended up in my domain."
