Belle had been in the library for the day, seeing if she could find any information on the creatures from the Underworld. Well, more information, as they already knew some about them. Gorgons and the like. However, ways to beat them, or even solve the whole Underworld problem would be lovely. She knew the answers had to be somewhere. They had the most powerful people here working on the issue, so there was no way they wouldn’t find the solution. She just wanted to feel like she was some help to the heroes. To Belle, that's exactly what Emma and her family was, heroes, and people who would save this town. She always wanted to be a hero and everything she did was to try to be the hero she always wanted to be.
However, her delving into the library's archives had yielded few results on the questions she wanted. She learned origin stories, histories, and various other tidbits about the monsters and the Underworld in general. It was all interesting, but not what she needed. With a frustrated sigh, Belle decided she needed to stretch her legs and get out of the library for a little bit. Then she could come back with a fresh mind and not be quite so frustrated with everything. Then she could focus better. Then she might find something she needed, hidden away in plain sight, right in black and white ink on the pages before her. Probably not. Her optimism was wavering and that was a sure sign she needed a break.
That was how she found herself taking a stroll down one of the beaches of Storybrooke alone, taking a deep breath in of the salty fresh air. She put on a smile taking off her shoes and allowing her toes to sink into the sand. It was a bit lonely, she had to admit. Rumple was off saving the town, her friends were off saving the town and she was back in the library trying to help them save the town. Not that she didn't love reading and researching, but her social life had been lacking.
However, just being by the sea, thinking about the lack of a social life reminded her of the time when her and a mermaid saved the town. She was still in Storybrooke, wasn't she? Ariel. Belle smiled thinking about their adventure and soon she found herself walking down the beach, having replaced her shoes on her feet, actively looking to see if Ariel was anywhere around. Or at least someone she knew who wasn't busy or working like Granny.
