It was something she never in a million years had thought she was going to be willing to do. To help the Savior. Hell, when the Savior had initially come to town....Emma. It was a difficult thing to swallow, because of the fact that she was Henry's birth mother. And that last thing she wanted was for her son to leave her. She couldn't handle another loss like that. Especially since she'd tried to become a better person for him. Nothing had been the same since she'd made the curse. Having to kill her beloved father, Henry...the man whom she named her son after. It was strange to think after all the years of hatred against her step-daughter, Snow White, that she could befriend the woman and the family she now had. She had come to the Underworld, not simply because she wanted to but because her son was going. And the last thing she was going to do was allow her son to be there without her to help protect him.
Yet coming down here there were challenges too. Challenges like getting a good hold on her magic. The Underworld worked differently with her magic, and it took a while to even get the magic within her to cooperate the way she wanted it to. Just forming a fire ball wasn't as easy as she thought. Of course when she'd initially come down here with Robin, Henry and their friends, she couldn't help but wonder if her mother was here. After all she had watched her mother tragically die. That memory had stuck with her as much as it had when she had taken her father's life into her own hands. Something she deeply regretted. She didn't have to think twice on it. Were both her parents here? Had they both moved on to a better place? Or were they as trapped down there as she currently was? Only difference was that she was alive when they were not. She didn't know what she'd say if she saw her mother again.
Being in the Underworld, it was eerie to see how it was just like the Storybrooke she had designed when she'd initially done the curse. She'd decided while the others went about their plans of how to get to Hook. She would go to her office, or what was her office. When suddenly she ran into her mother, Cora. As unexpectedly as it was. "Mother? Wh--what are you doing here?" She asked rather surprised as she didn't know what to think. The woman had never been good at alot of things. Showing love was one of those things. "Are you here to try and stop me, mother? Because if that's the case....I'm afraid you're too late." She wasn't about to let her mother stop her from helping her friends.
It seemed bizarre to her because when she was growing up her mother had been anything but close to her, in the physical sense. So she had her heightened guard up, not wanting to trust anything down here. Not even her own eyes. Her mother had almost always been cold and distant, though she'd known when her mother had died that at least on some level there was love between them.
It had been slightly unnerving that her mother had had another daughter and had never bothered to tell her. That she had to find out about having a sister at all from her sister herself. And that was even after she tried to steal Robin away from her. She wasn't close with her sister. It wasn't to say that she didn't try to give Zelena sisterly advice considering what Hades was capable of.
Hades did of course have them all trapped down there but she hoped that maybe they could figure out a way. Because she refused to be stuck in the Underworld while she was still technically alive. She wanted to help find captain guy liner. But there had to be a way to do that. Where was Hades keeping him? That had been her purpose for being down here after all. Not to reunite with anyone else. Looking toward her mother she didn't understand what to expect. The family she had was far from perfect. For years she had only had a thirst for vengeance. Watching her mother, she didn't know what to think. Or what to feel. But she had her reasons for being down here and she wasn't going to get sidetracked by this sudden and unexpected reunion.
