PERSONALITY Emma is a deeply damaged and conflicted woman. On first glance she's strong and aggressive, but deep down she's broken because of everything that happened to her in her life. Her first response to everything is usually anger, but she has spent a lot of time to control that temper. Emma still has trust issues, due to the fact that her best friend Lily, lied to her about being in a group home. This feeling only intensifies when Neal Cassidy made her go to jail for his crime. Emma really doesn't like to be lied to, as seen when she finds out that Snow White and Prince Charming had put her potential darkness into Lily, Maleficent's daughter. She became cold to her parents, but despite that, she's still very forgiving. As the Dark One, Emma's personality has taken a dark twist. Albeit, she was still good, she became more isolated, and rather wanted to keep things to herself. She struggled with the darkness, but her family was able to keep her good. The Underworld. She let her walls down for Killian, and she was determined to get him back, even giving up half of her heart so he would live. Her Powers: As a result of True Love birth, Emma is capable of using magic. In the Land without Magic, this was very limited. But after Mr. Gold brought magic back to Storybrooke, her powers were greatly enhanced. She has been taking lessons from Regina to improve her magic. Lie Detection: Emma has the power to detect if a person is lying. Emma used this power without her knowing. Weaknesses: Laws of Magic: She is unable to raise the dead, create love and time travel. Leave Storyrbooke: If Emma leaves Storybrooke, she will lose her magic, becoming mortal. HISTORY Before the First Curse; Emma, born to Snow White and Prince Charming, was the product of true love and destined to be the savior. To protect Emma from Regina's Dark Curse, she was transported along with Pinocchio to a Land without Magic. During the First Curse; As a child, Pinocchio had received the task to prtoect Emma as a baby while they were both in the foster care system. However, he chooses to abandon her later on. Emma hopped from family to family, until she realized she was too old. Emma runs away, meeting a girl named Lily who helps her shoplift. The two end up having a lot in common as Emma discovers Lily is an orphan like her. The two break into a house to sped the night there, where they simply bond and hang out. A man enters the house, who turns out to be Lily's adoptive father. Emma, quite upset at the lies she's been fed, walks away from Lily. Once returned home, her parents know that Lily is a wanted criminal, and kick Emma out because she kept it from them. Years later, Emma steals a car while she doesn't know there's someone in the back. The person reveals himself as Neal, and they start to con people. One day, they decide to have a life of their own in Tallahassee, only to have no money to make that dream come true. But, Neal had stolen watches and got Emma to pick them up. In the mean time, August finds Neal and Neal is forced to disappear from her life. Emma is arrested for the watches and is sent to prison for 11 months. In prison, she discovers she is pregnant and gives birth to a boy who she puts up for adoption. On her 28th birthday, a boy knocks on her door and claims to be her son she gave up for adoption 10 years ago. She brings Henry home back to his mother, Regina, who lives in Storybrooke. Things progress from there and finally, Regina's curse is broken. After the First Curse; Emma is finally reunited with her true parents, Snow White and Prince Charming. Though things end rather fast when both Snow and Emma are sent to the Enchanted Forest. They meet Mulan, Aurora, Cora, and the handsome Captain Hook. Emma and Snow face off against Cora and Hook, and end up back in Storybrooke. They were unaware that Cora and Hook arrived in Storybrooke as well. Mr. Gold locates his long lost son Baelfire, and brings Emma and Henry along to find him. Arrived in New York, Emma discovers Gold's son is actually Neal Cassidy, the guy who abandoned her and made her go to prison. However, things make an unexpected turn as Mr. Gold is poisoned by Hook. They are forced to go back to Storybrooke and Neal is the one who gets them there by Hook's ship. Emma and Neal defend Mr. Gold from Cora, who wants to kill him to become the Dark One, however, Snow kills Cora. Strange things begin to happen, as people from outside Storybrooke are able to enter the usually hidden town. Emma meets Tamara, who works together with Greg to get rid of magic. Tamara is revealed to be Neal's fiance, but it turns out she lied to Neal and reveals she was using him. After a fight with Tamara, Emma and Neal hang over a pit. Neal encourages her to let go, while they exchange their 'I love you's'. Neal then falls into the pit, leaving Emma heartbroken once again, feeling like she lost him for a second time. Tamara and Greg's employer remains a secret, but once they bring Henry to Neverland, it is revealed that their employer is no one else but Peter Pan. Emma, Regina, Rumplestiltskin, Snow White, Prince Charming and Captain Hook set sail to Neverland to get Henry back. Pan's game has started, and thei receive a map. The map, however, is empty. Only Emma could unlock the path to find Henry, and she did, by accepting who she really was. An orphan. They discover Neal is still alive, but to save him, Emma has to reveal her darkest secret. So she tells Neal that 'she loves him, but wishes he was dead.' Eventually, the gang saves Henry but they are unaware that Pan and Henry swapped bodies. After Pan's body is released from a trap, he swaps it back with Henry's and Emma discovers that Pan's plan is to re enact the Dark Curse to create a "New Neverland". Rumplestiltskin stops him by killing both Pan and himself, while everyone else is frozen to the spot. Regina then explains to Emma that everyone from the Enchanted Forest is going to return back there, but because Henry was born in this world, he won't. She tells Emma that only she can escape the curse as she is the savior, and all of her memories of Storybrooke will be gone. Regina then gives Emma and Henry new memories of a life in which she never gave up her son. Emma then says goodbye to her parents as she leaves Storybrooke, and the curse takes everyone back to the Enchanted Forest. During the Second Curse; Captain Hook restores Emma's memories with a potion and the two return to Storybrooke with Henry to find out there has been a new Dark Curse caused by Zelena, the Wicked Witch of the West. During that time, she finds Neal trapped within Mr. Gold's body, thus causing Rumple to lose his mind. Neal asks for Emma to free his father by killing himself to defeat Zelena; she reluctantly agrees and loses Neal for a third time. Regina breaks the second curse, and everyone's memories are restored. Gold stabs Zelena and she is killed, however, her time portal is activated and Emma goes to investigate it with Hook, but they get sucked in. Emma accepts that her home is Storybrooke, and they return there with a previously deceased Maid Marian. Who was Robin Hood's wife before she died. Emma shatters her friendship with Regina that way. Later, they regain their friendship to defeat the Snow Queen with Elsa, who helps Emma to finally embrace her powers fully and control them. When Elsa, Anna and Kristoff leave, Emma learns that Mr. Gold is back to his evil ways. Emma also learns that Gold has Hook's heart and she gets it back and puts it back in him. New villains enter Storybrooke, Cruella De Vill, Maleficent and Ursula. Cruella kidnaps Henry while his family rescues him. Emma uses her magic to push Cruella off the cliff, thus killing her. Snow and Charming arrive too late to see what Emma has done. Later, Emma is asked by Maleficent to locate her daughter. She discovers Maleficent's daughter is actually her childhood friend Lily, and that Lily has Emma's potential darkness inside her. Thus, explaining Lily's constant need to mischief. Maleficent is reunited with Lily in the end. Emma forgives her parents for what they had done to Lily. The apprentice is freed, and they free the Author as well. But, the Author writes an entire alternate universe in which Villain's always win. Emma is a part of this story, she is locked away in a tower unable to do anything that is occurring. Henry saves her, along with a clumsy Captain Hook. Escaping the tower, Emma, Henry and Hook are met by the Evil Queen and her Huntsman, who are actually Snow White and Prince Charming. Prince Charming kills Captain Hook in front of Emma, who is devastated. Henry breaks the curse by becoming the next Author. He writes everything back to normal. Emma finds Captain Hook and is relieved to find him alive. Though, she is still unable to admit her love for him. The gang discovers that Mr. Gold is dying, and the Apprentice uses his power to pull the darkness out of Gold and transfers it to the Sorcerer's Hat. He then puts a pure white heart back into Gold. However, the hat is unable to contain the darkness and it is unleashed into the Apprentice. Emma then uses her light magic to pull the darkness back out of the apprentice and the dark magic disappears out of the shop. The darkness seeks out Regina to be its host, but Emma sacrifices herself by tethering herself to the darkness. She trusts that they'll find a way to separate the darkness from her once again. She finally tells Hook she loves him. The darkness surrounds Emma, and then dissipates, only the dagger is left behind. Instead of Rumplestiltskin, the name "Emma Swan" is now written on it. The Dark One; Emma had a lot of trouble controlling the darkness, but thanks to her family she is kept at bay. They go on a quest to reunite the Dark One dagger with Excalibur, but something goes wrong when doing so. Captain Hook is dying because he was cut by Excalibur. Emma can't let another loved one die, and she turns Hook into a Dark One. Thus finally giving in to her powers. Hook kills Merlin, revealing his dark plan to Emma. He wants to bring all Dark One's back and get revenge on Rumplestiltskin. Emma casts a new curse, bringing everyone back to Storybrooke but wiping their memories, even Hook's memories of being a Dark One. Captain Hook finds out by Zelena, and continues his plan of bringing back the Dark Ones. However, the real Killian Jones comes out and sacrifices himself to get rid of the darkness. Both Killian and Emma are freed of the Dark One curse, but Killian dies. Later, Emma discovers that the Darkness was still there, and it appears that Rumplestiltskin is back to being the Dark One. Emma decides that Hook died for nothing, and wants to get him back. But, they have to go to the Underworld to save him. Once there, Emma gives half of her heart to Captain Hook, and they return to Storybrooke with help of Rumplestiltskin. However, they were not the only ones to escape the Underworld.. RP SAMPLE (Best to listen to Within Temptation - Memories while reading this) Emma sat on the couch going through a box of pictures of someone she used to know. He had curly brown hair, and such a contagious smile. He had captured her heart, and broken it by leaving her. She raised the picture of him sleeping beside her, Emma couldn't help but smile at it. This was the only time he actually slept peacefully. Usually, his dreams were filled with nightmares, Emma was always there to soothe him. She knew he did not leave her willingly, he left her because she had a job to fulfill. So when Emma first saw him back in New York, imagine the shock. She ruffled through the box once more, placing the picture next to her on the couch. They were all she had of him. Well, that and Henry. Her boy looked so much like his father, in more ways than she knew. All of her memories kept him near, which brought her to his last wish. Go find Tallahasse, even if it's without me. Emma bit her lip, she did.. find Tallahassee. But her Tallahassee was in Storybrooke. With Killian and Henry. She took out another picture, touching it with a gentle brush of her fingertip. There was no doubt about it, she still loved him. But with Killian, it was easier to forget the pain. A knock on the door made her come back to the real world, and she got up. Once she reached the door, she glanced at the box with a sad smile. Picture still in her hand, she opened the door. Emma inhaled as if she was surprised by who she saw. "...Neal?" |
