Queen Elsa
Elsa
PERSONALITY Elsa is a gentle soul with a lot of power. For a long time, she did not understand the magic she was born with, and had very little control of it. Only in recent years has she been able to muster the strength and courage to control her emotions, which have a habit of getting the better of her. She wants nothing more than to be a good and strong leader for her people, but carries a lot of fear of failure inside her. Coupled with her penchant for keeping her emotional states a secret from everyone around her, and shutting people out when she gets too stressed, she can still suffer from some of the major flaws that almost destroyed her once already. The very last thing she wants to do is hurt anyone, but fearing something so strongly can often lead someone into a self fulfilling prophecy. She understands better, now, how important family and friends can be, and how much power they carry in their own right. Her emotions, her love and her trust, are both her greatest strength and her greatest weakness. The Queen can be very soft spoken at times, especially in social settings or when trying to get to know others on a personal level. She does step into the role of Queen easier now, though, and can speak with power and confidence when her Kingdom is concerned: she is dedicated to her home, and will do anything she has to in order to help it flourish. She has a sense of humor hidden under her royal persona, and can be very fun loving and joyful when she’s not busy trying to carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. She feels responsible for a lot, and that can get in the way of things. Still, chocolate is a good way to win her affections. HISTORY Elsa was born to the King and Queen of Arendelle, and became the heir to the throne. She is the oldest daughter of the household, with only one sibling, her sister Anna. They were incredibly close to one another growing up, Elsa sharing her magic with her sister and enjoying their play time together. Anna was always adventurous and playful, and tended to push Elsa into tricky, but fun, spots. An unfortunate accident that nearly killed Anna, however, changed all of that. Elsa was devastated that she hurt her sister, and her parents took her to some trolls to not only save Anna, but find out how to control Elsa’s power. An ominous warning about letting her power get out of her control left its mark, and Elsa changed from that moment on. Anna’s memories of magic were taken from her, and Elsa closed herself away from everyone, leaving the two sister separated for years despite living in the same household. The death of their parents at sea only widened this distance. Elsa only emerged a bit at her coronation as Queen, when she came of age. She held a large party, as was tradition, and did her best to reach out to Anna a little, only to have her magic flare up and, after a series of unfortunate accidents, left her fleeing from her sister, her Kingdom, and her responsibilities. She left Arendelle cloaked in ice, though was oblivious to the danger until her sister came to find her. Cue another accident, this time one that could kill Anna by freezing her heart, and Elsa finally managed to come to her senses and return to her Kingdom. Anna and Elsa made up, and no one managed to die, so it turned out for the better. The Kingdom accepted her as their Queen with open arms, and she ruled over them fairly and gracefully, with her magic fully accepted, afterwards. Of course, not even happily ever afters could stay forever, and Elsa ended up getting caught up in a nefarious plan by Ingrid to replace her lost sisters, one of which was actually Elsa’s mother. Though family, and magical to boot, Elsa did not want to join Ingrid at the expense of others. Really, all she wanted was Anna, who had gone missing. Through the curse, some time travel, and the use of a magic sealing Urn, Elsa came to Storybrooke and began her search for her sister with a bang, not remembering Ingrid or her dastardly plots. She very nearly killed Emma Swan in her blind dedication to her search, though eventually she calmed and turned to helping the people of Storybrooke, as they helped her in return. They managed to not only stop Ingrid, but reunite Elsa with her sister. RP SAMPLE Queen Elsa was adjusting to her role almost effortlessly, considering the very rocky start. Today, things were buzzing. The Kingdom was preparing for a large party and gathering. It was a special time, for everyone. Princess Anna was getting married to her loyal companion, Kristoff, and the people of Arendelle could not be happier to hear it. It gave them cause to gather, which they loved, and it gave everyone something to rejoice about. It felt much the same as it had when the girls opened the gates to the castle for the first time, what seemed like ages ago now. Excitement and a healthy dose of anxiety towards the unknown. But this time, at least, it was not Elsa feeling the weight of it. She could focus on taking care of the preparations, sending out the invitations, decorating and making sure that Anna's celebration was as lovely and beautiful as Anna herself. Though Elsa was sure she could never make things perfect enough, could never make them good enough for her sister. Not that Anna had demanding standards, quite the opposite. Elsa just wanted everything to be the best it could be, because she felt that Anna had earned so much. After risking her life to protect Elsa, Anna had proven that she was a wonderful human being. Far better than Elsa, who still bore some guilt about the danger she had put everyone in, and how she had simply run away from all her problems. It was going to take her some time to make up for it all, but she was trying. And her people were happy because of it. They were at peace with the nations around them, trade and commerce were strong, they had regular visitors and excellent markets. The only Kingdom that held any tension for them was the Southern Isles, but things were not as dire as they had once felt. After Hans was taken care of by his father, many offerings of peace and apologies had been sent to Arendelle, and Elsa had overcome her anger towards Hans to forgive the kingdom and his family. It was not their doing, after all. Still, their invitation to the wedding was likely 'lost at sea'. Queen Elsa moved from the castle, feeling strange to be outside. Usually she had a team of guards with her, but today she wanted to go out and get Anna something without any fuss. She had a cloak on, and some fairly plain clothes on, considering her usual style. It was not likely that she would get far before someone recognized her, but she was going to try, at least. |
