Captain Jones
Liam Jones
PERSONALITY ↪ S T U B B O R N Liam Jones is every bit and piece of a stubborn man. The constant reminder of the reason he died is due to his stubbornness, and everyday, he continues to act the way he first did many, many years ago. He tends to refuse to believe others if things sound less than plausible, and because of that, it plays a role as being one of his more definable flaws as a person. He's a rather difficult man to sway when it comes to convincing him of something otherwise when he's the one you have an impasse with. ↪ L O Y A L There's nothing like the personality trait of loyalty (and being honourable), however loyalty is often taken advantage of. It, however, doesn't change the fact that Liam is strictly loyal to the people he loves or cares about, and if anything, there's very little to that. Originally, he was quite the loyal character to the King he and Killian first served, but obviously that's no longer the case. Liam is more loyal to people such as his family and friends, the people who he trusts on a daily basis. ↪ P L A Y F U L Although everything else shows him to be a man of a typical nature, he's just as much of a teaser and joker himself. Growing up with having to take good care and responsibility over his little brother leaves him in the position of making jokes to see the lad smile. Nothing changes the fact that he'll always call Killian his 'little' brother instead of his 'younger' brother. ↪ L O V I N G There is nothing like love in the world. Albeit there is no significant other in the Underworld or Storybrooke for him just yet, it doesn't alter his loving nature much. With little places and people to love, most of his love stems to being true to the heart and directed toward his younger brother. However, Liam can grow to love others just as much, such as the people Killian associates himself with as family. ↪ LIKES/DISLIKES Not a whole lot to discuss about, but Liam absolutely loves the sea and ships, much like any sailor. He is, as well, a fan of good form and honour, therefore anything opposite of that is something he highly disapproves and dislikes. The biggest desire, for him, is to just see that his brother has taken the right path and found a happy, and loving life. HISTORY Growing up, he was the older one of the two. Killian being his younger brother and then Liam being the elder, he was always the one who was much more stubborn and hot-headed, however it seemed like that they weren't enough when one night it was revealed that the pair of brothers had been sold off to serve as slaves. In his lack of effort of waking up, Killian had discovered the truth before Liam did. When he had learned of this later, all Liam knew at that point was that he had a job, which was to take care of his younger brother no matter how difficult things got, because he didn't want to be the man their father was - he had absolutely no desire to abandon his family. As his life continued on, so did the way they lived their life. Getting both himself and his brother out of servitude was no easy deal. They had suffered shoddy circumstances for several years before he was legal and able to admit himself into training in the royal Navy. Days even then, in the Navy, were not so easy, but it was a better life than servitude. He was able to put food on the table and offer Killian a better life, better than what they had to deal with before. As he climbed the ranks, as painstaking as it might have been, he had reached the rank of Captain. Being a Captain meant he had his own ship. Liam - Captain Jones, as most people addressed him - owned the Jewel of the Realm, the fastest ship in all the realms. Of course, serving beneath the King, was the King's ship and property. One day, he was summoned by the King for a mission, an assignment to bring back a plant by the name of Dreamshade, which was said to be for medicinal purposes. He owned a sextant that was able to guide them home, but also then provided with a Pegasus sail to fly them to the realm where the plant was. Neverland. Liam, of course, inseparable with his brother, decided to bring him along. By then, he was Lieutenant Killian Jones, which decided the fact that he was in second command on his ship. Reaching Neverland together, they were greeted by a boy by the name of Peter Pan, who warned the both of them that the plant they wanted to retrieve was poisonous. Killian, having been more rational and suspicious, doubted the King's intentions, all while Liam's nobility and loyalty, descended him down a worse path. Purposely, he cut himself with the plant to show Killian that it wasn't poisonous, except, it definitely was poisonous and that it spread rather quickly. Managing to be cured with special water from Neverland, they swiftly escaped Neverland, deciding that the King had sent them on a suicide mission, agreeing that it was bad form to start a war with a poison such as Dreamshade. Little did he know, however, as he was simply getting dressed and leaving the dreaded realm, that he was going to die. The cure was something that only lasted on Neverland - anywhere further, and the effects wore off. After dying, he had expected himself to not continue living. In any form. But, it seemed that there had been other ideas as fate threw him down into the Underworld. The Underworld was a place where people who had unfinished business ended up, and so it turned out, he had...unfinished business. He had unfinished business with his brother, having let him down after the fact that Killian had clearly idolized him so much. Liam had failed to be the man he wanted to - he had, ultimately, abandoned his family. From his spot in the Underworld, he watched for many years. Of course, he had his job of being a personal servant and security guard of some sort, though. It seemed to be the constant reminder that because of ignoring warnings and failing Killian, he had a career that was always going to show him what he had done wrong, to serve for reasons of why he ended up in the Underworld in the first place. Living his life in constant despair in the Underworld, it seemed that the arrival of the heroes, from Storybrooke, had came to save Killian who ended up in the Underworld as well. Of course Liam knew of what happened, but even he had feared that confronting his brother would hurt the both of them. As much as he loved his brother, he was scared of being denied, of being shut out because he had left him to his own devices, becoming pirates and craving revenge over the man who killed his love. Though, he strongly wanted to mend bridges and catch up with his little brother, even if they hadn't seen each other in centuries. Things changed, quite evidently, and Liam had slipped through one of the cracks of the Underworld, fumbling into the town of Storybrooke, the more...lively version and less of the dead. RP SAMPLE Technically, there was no sleep for the dead. He was a lost one in the Underworld, but every time he climbed into the bed and rested his head on the pillow, his hands clasped together over his stomach, he imagined it. Once Liam closed his eyes, for just a few brief moments to think over, to reflect, the same vision, or say, memory, returned to haunt him. It was utterly annoying and it hurt him, because really, he didn't want to experience death over and over again so many times. He had nearly died once (excluding the fact he was temporarily saved), and then he actually died again, so of course, it was already traumatizing himself. But, the Underworld had it's own tricks. As did Hades, the man who ran this realm in the first place. It was no different this night. It was weird, for him, to be living but not technically be living. He had this life forever now, since the moment he died all those year ago being the ignorant, stubborn prick he was (technically, he still was). Liam's work here wasn't exhausting, but it certainly wasn't easy either. He felt tired, like his bones were weary and his eyelids were heavy, but it didn't work like that. After a long day's work, he had laid down to find himself thinking about how much he missed his brother. And the same failure of his repeated in his head over, and over, and over. The more he clenched his eyes shut, the more the guilt flooded in. He had witnessed his brother's pain and his own far too many times he could count. Everyday it's the same, Liam thought to himself as he opened his eyes and stared up at the ceiling, wondering if he was ever going to mend bridges with his brother. Sure, it had been nice to see his brother turn from a boy into a man, to finding love and losing it, but finding it again...but sometimes, Liam often thought whether this aching way of spectating his brother from the Underworld was ever going to stop - if he was ever going to find a way out and watch over him from a more pleasant environment; if the light was ever going to shine through again. Though, that didn't matter as much as one thing. I love you, little brother. |
