Milah
PERSONALITY She was not always the strong of heart and mind. She was far too stubborn for her own good when she chose to abandon a marriage she knew had long since run it's course. She is at first a doting wife and caring not only about her husband but his needs as well. She eventually understands his decision when he decides to join the ogre wars. She was terrified at first but he made it sound like if he went that he wouldn't be seen as the town coward and that maybe the whispers would stop. But when Rumple returned home, she wasn't the same doting wife she once was. She had heard all about her husband's actions and how he had injured himself. She was bitter, forced to accept that since Rumple didn't want to leave that they were going to be forever bound to a town where everyone said their family was full of cowards. That was what she hated most. She tried for a while to be the happy mother and wife but it didn't work. She was lonely. She was sick of hearing about how poor--and unsightly her husband was. He was a disaster. So she out of perhaps spite would belittle him when she got angry. She was depressed and miserable. She becomes driven to drink and to imagine a life outside of the village she was cursed to be in. Being with Killian she had finally found her happy ending. Yes she missed her son. And not a day went by that she did not think of ways to return for him. The love she and Killian shared was vast and true, something that she had never had before. Not even from Rumple. She tends to goad people, especially when she's not happy. She's a little spitfire with Killian by her side, a true pirate through and through. When Rumple came to make a deal with her and Killian, she did what she had to do. Risked it all to spare Killian. Knowing very well that it would anger Rumple in the process. Her actions may have been cowardice before her death but she had her reasons for them. She is honest when it comes to how she feels regarding her son. And her son's father. She may have fallen but she won't stay down. She had always been good at navigation even before marrying Rumple, and having their son Baelfire. Love was the one thing that both was her biggest strength as well as her biggest weakness. While she and Rumple did not work out, she did love their son and was torn between staying put for his sake and being in an unhappy marriage and to find love again with Killian. She was very passionate with everything she did and does. What sucked for her though was how she and Rumple were when they had been together, she grew to dislike the coward he had become. No longer the man she had hoped to care and grow to love. That was in part why she had set her sights on something better. Cowards was something she disliked even as a child, and it was difficult to come to understand how she once loved one. Abandoning her son was something she disliked, and often thought about him over the years though she was unable to return to him. During her life she has often had feared about many a thing including; losing Hook, her life, and being forever stuck with a coward for a husband. And she also feared what Baelfire would think of her if she did return to him. HISTORY Some might say that she had a heart of ice. That the young woman would forever be bound to a life she didn't want nor choose. The fact remained that her parents and perhaps Rumple came across this as a deal. Were the fates aligned when they decided whom she should be with? It was many years ago, when Milah first ran into a man named Rumplestiltskin. It was not love at first sight perhaps but he grew on her. Her home life had been anything but pleasant as both her parents were deceased by the time she and Rumple decided to get married. It was a whirlwind romance from the start. She hoped that they would be able to see the world, and not be confined in their simple little village but oh how wrong she was! It was scary to think that this was the life that she had signed up for. Rumple was content spinning and selling wool from their home. Yes, it was something of a start. There was money and that was a good thing but it wasn't fulfilling, not for her anyway. Yes there was food on the table, and for that she was happy. At least for a while. But the longer they stayed in this quaint little town the more bored and unsettled she became. Night after night she told Rumple about how she wanted a fresh start, not only for her but for their new family. That they could leave town and that they didn't have to hear the whispers about what kind of a coward Rumple's father was or what kind of a coward Rumple was turning out to be. That was what she longed for, a fresh start. Anywhere. It was not to say that her marriage to Rumple was altogether bad, it just was boring. She longed for the opportunity to see the world. But he was so scared of the unknown that he did not venture out into it. And she wasn't able to either. When the time of the ogre wars arrived, she watched as her husband signed up to go. Many of the women who were left behind would rather their husbands died in combat, but no. She was disgraced with absolute certainty when Rumple arrived home. It wasn't to say an easy reunion. As the rumors had spread that Rumple had hurt himself to come home. A fact that annoyed her. He was a disgrace, or so she felt. She just was unhappy. She was a new mom, as after he had gone away she had found out she was pregnant and had delivered a son, Baelfire in his absence. Even after their son's birth all she could think about was traveling, and having Rumple and their son with her. But it never was to come about. All because of the choices he made. She said she would try to be happy where they were but she knew it wouldn't last long. Her longing for a fresh start always prevailed. 9 years after her son's birth, life would change drastically for her. When she had went to a local tavern, which she did when she was feeling a little down and out by life. It was on such an occasion that she had met Killian Jones. A man that she was instantly taken by. Not just by his looks but by his particular charms and stories. Bored with the life she was living, she chose to follow her instincts. Despite knowing this would betray her instincts as a mother. She was never very good at it anyway. Bae and Rumple eventually witnessed her by Killian's side and Rumple begged her to come home with them. She did. Rumple had asked her to try and stay. To stick it out, if not for the sake of their marriage but for the sake of their only son. A fact that she had tried hard to do. Not long after she made a decision in a moment where her decision was cloudy. Her longing to travel and Killian's offer to see the world was just too incredible to pass up. She knew though that the ship was in no way safe for her young son yet. But soon. She would go back for him. She boarded the Jolly Roger, and was perhaps more ready than she had ever been in her life to leave the quaint little town and its rumors. She knew how it would look. That Killian had kidnapped her. Which as a pirate, that was not a hard thing to believe. As that was the kind of thing pirates did, they took whatever they wanted. Eventually she and Killian fell in love. A love that sparked over intense conversations and the love of travel. That love was the one thing that kept her from losing her mind after what she had done to Bae. It hurt knowing that she had abandoned her son. She hadn't cared whether she had abandoned Rumple, but she had felt bad for abandoning Bae. There wasn't a day that she didn't feel sorry for that. For leaving him without a mother. Falling in love with Killian aside from having her son was the best thing that had ever happened to her. Years later she was forced to do something to defend herself. Seeing Rumple again her heart was broken. She did not love the man anymore as time had changed things. Though she never forgot how she once loved him. She lied, of course. She told him she'd never loved him, mostly because it was her trying to get him to stay away from Killian. And that was the last thing she remembered upon the Jolly Roger. As she watched helplessly as Rumple took her heart and crushed it. Crushing with it, the chance to return to her son, to apologize and to explain that she had done what she had in a moment of weakness. After her death Killian sent her body into the sea which is what she had told him she wanted him to do if and when that ever came to pass. Living if one could even call it that in the Underworld was perhaps one of the more difficult things one could ever imagine. All the years she had been upset with the choices of her own actions and now had to face the very real probability of seeing it all be for naught. RP SAMPLE Coming back into a world that was well several centuries past the one she knew, it was difficult, if not impossible to understand just how her life would fit in again. Her earliest memories were the happy days with Rumple. The days in which she thought everything was aright. Oh how wrong she was back then. She loved her son, although she failed him. Failed him as a mother possibly could. Being a pirate fit in well into the kind of life she had always dreamed of. One full of adventure. One full of mystery. And it didn't hurt having a handsome pirate by her side either. There were times where being with him made her feel incredible, as though nothing could go wrong. Yes she had hurt Rumple, and had hurt her son in the process. And not a day went by that she didn't at the very least feel guilty about such things. Namely for the sake of her son. She wasn't meant to be a mother. Because she couldn't stand by her son, she couldn't be there for him the way that she should have been. But she wasn't the best at being a wife either. As at the first chance she ran for it. But being with Killian, she felt more alive than she had in well she couldn't even remember. Some would say that Killian was nothing more than a coward, who stole more than just the gold from men, but the women they loved. She was a testament to that. She had fallen in love with him over the course of a few drinks and learning about all his travels. It was much more excitement than the life she lived a home. Where all she was, was a pitiful woman. Her death had caused things to pivot way out of control, Rumple had grown darker than even she had ever imagined. Killian, without him had been nothing but disaster. Was it real, that while she was dead she missed the man she had loved? That without Killian she felt incomplete, even amongst the dead and gone? But there was no time to think about what was. Only what will be. The sea was perhaps the one thing that made her feel the best, the happiest. Because it led to her memories of Killian. Without him she was truly incomplete. It was a feeling she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy. Not even Rumple. What she did know was the moments before her death. Of having Rumple take her heart out of her chest, it still beating and working properly. And then as he squeezed it, so did her breath become smaller and smaller. She recalled the last words she would speak, were to Killian. "I love you." Those were powerful words and those were as honest as she could get. She'd have rather died than him in a microsecond. Despite knowing the feeling of loss, all too well. But it was a difficult moment when she realized where she was. She wasn't in the woods, in the comforts of the surroundings she was used to. But the docks, those were comforting in it's own right, no matter how quaint it was being near the water again. Oh how she longed to be back on the Jolly Roger, to have Killian by her side and to have the life they once had together, again. Walking in the area by the docks, she had never thought it would be like this. To feel the cool breeze drifting off of the ocean's waters. She missed the feel of it. Of the ship beneath her feet. And Killian. Oh the man had given her a run for everything she had. But it was all worth it. He brought everything out in her. Everything that she was afraid she'd never be able to feel. She could recall with vivid clarity how she had first woken in this world. To realize she was back. She'd had a migraine, as though she'd drank more rum than the body could ever hold. She had to be tough. Stronger than she once was. Though there were moments in her past, where being with Killian that she didn't have to pretend to be anything but what she was. And just then she heard Killian's voice. She sighed hearing his voice. Oh how good it was to hear. How long had it been since he had said her name? And to truly be almost in disbelief as he had said it. It was quite a surprise to see him there too. She walked until she reached him. "The Rum will do that to you. It's no hallucination. I'm really here, Killian. No, you know correctly. I did die. But I'm back. Trust me. If you can't believe what I'm telling you then maybe I can show you." She said as she was in arm's reach now of the man she loved. She reached her arms around his waist and smirked a little. She then leaned in and kissed him. Kissing him with every fiber that she had left in her. But after a moment or two she pulled away. She stepped back and out of his reach. Knowing he would either curse at her or think that Rumple was playing games. She just knew she had to do something to convince him. "It's no trick. Rumplestiltskin had nothing to do with this. For why I'm here. Please, Killian. If you don't believe what I'm telling you, then at least believe what you feel. Trust that. Trust your instincts. Trust your heart. It's me, the woman you've always loved. The one you've never stopped loving. I love you, Killian. I am here. Just like I always was. I don't know how but I am. Which means....you did something. Who did you go to? As I couldn't have come back from the dead on my own. Someone had to have helped bring me back, but whom?" She asked with clarity as she hadn't ever caught the name of the person who she owed a debt to when this was all said and done. |
