During wolves time, as Ruby used to call it, she often went out into the forest for a walk or a run. The freedom she felt those nights were the most amazing feeling she had ever felt, so she did this every time a full moon hung in the sky. That night she had taken a route that took her close to the well, and as she got closer and closer she caught the scent of something she had never smelled there before. This new scent made her slow down, her curiosity was awoken as she made her way to the well, to see what it was she had caught the scent of. When she saw the young man near the well, she stopped in her tracks and sat down for a little while. She had never seen the young man before, and he probably didn't know that the wolf he saw was actually a woman. She hadn't brought her cloak with her, so she couldn't show him that she wasn't a threat to him. So she just got up again, turned around and walked away.
When she woke up again, now in her human form but still in the forest, she remembered what she had seen the night before. What had the young man been doing out there in the middle of the night? And if she went back there now, would he still be there? Or would he have moved on after she left? The only way she would find out was if she went back, to see if he was there, and if he was then ask him why he was there and not in the town.
As she got closer to the well again, she walked with careful steppes, hoping that she wouldn't frighten him or make him feel threatened. "Hello? Is there anyone there?" She called out, and then stood still as she listened after sounds of movements or just of someone else breathing.
Toothless
