Abigail Van Helsing
Dr.Lara Stoker
PERSONALITY Abigail Van Helsing is a very vengeful person. First impressions make the world of impact to her. She remembers what people say until the moment they die. She isn't afraid of death, or killing people. Although she is very caring to people who she gains trust for, that can be difficult for her. She has been betrayed many times, so she keeps up a heavy guard. She is extremely intelligent, having multiple different studies in the medical field. She had been studying health since she was very little. Abi is extremely passionate and will fight for whatever she deems morally right. She is quick to judge, so first impressions mean a lot. If you do something wrong to her, she will probably put you on her kill-list. Abigail is not really people friendly. Although being charismatic and kind, she really tends to not get close to people or make friends. She is a super genius, having various different degrees. She knows about all medicines and all religions. Abi also has a law degree, so she can be extremely persuasive. She aims to overachieve, as she loves to learn. She tends to not really care about other people unless she's emotionally connected to them. Sometimes in tragedy, she can try to find a light to it and have a good laugh. This can make her seem apathetic at times, but she doesn't really have a reason to frown most of the time. Emotions make her seem weak to others, so she tries to act cold and distant most of the time. She does enjoy laughing and being manipulative, however. Despite being called Dr. Van Helsing, she is also a professor and does not just do medical studies. She enjoys to teach others to make others more intelligent. She strives for making the world a more tolerable and livable place. Thus, killing monsters whenever she stumbles on them. With first impressions, she had a terrible history with vampires. That was the beginning of her disdain for anything that could kill her. Vampires showed no boundaries. They killed whomever they pleased, even if they were innocent or not. This overstepped the boundaries of what she believed was morally right. So she began to kill whoever she deemed to be evil, which was most monsters. Abi loves many things, she's just been through a lot. People have used her for many different things, including her intelligence and good intentions. She was turned into a vampire after saving her friend Mina from Dracula, so this was her life for a few years. If you're good of heart and have no reason for her to want to kill you, she'll be fine with you. It is just really difficult for Abi to trust someone enough to be friends with them. It is almost impossible. She is really pessimistic, more realistic than anything. Living in the Land Without Color didn't make her life exactly filled with sunshine and rainbows. After making multiple deals with Rumple, she was rid of the vampyrism and began to learn light magic. She has the ability to heal small wounds and do various small magical spells. She is able to do many benevolent things with her magic, and is allowed to do many things that aid her monster hunting. Her weaknesses include her personality, which may seem a little rude to people at times. She is also afraid of letting people too close to her, so this can prevent her from having too many allies at a time. But she is definitely good at bringing her enemies close to her, which can gain fake allies. She has a good idea of the world around her. HISTORY Coming from an almost poor family, Abigail learned to be very kind and to be grateful of what she had when she was younger. She wasn't filled with greed, but instead learned as much as she could so she could escape the whole that she was in, living in the poverty that her family was in. For her earlier years, she was the top of her class in lower grades. When she got to University, she studied multiple degrees and finished extremely early. She was labeled as a super genius by her peers and by her teachers. She began to grow in reputation, and was infamous for her ability to know many complex and logical subjects. She was the person to go to for any wisdom on medical, science, history, and even religious issues. She had an answer for practically everything. However, this prevented her from gaining any actual benefit from social situations. Thus, she became a bit socially awkward. One person who she found to be friendly was a woman named Mina Harker. She was social, kind, and everything that Abigail wanted to strive to be. Mina had some issues with someone who she believed was a monster. Before that, Abigail was her doctor and helped her quite a bit. After the suspicions, Mina became very ill. She deduced that Dracula was indeed the monster that Mina claimed he was. During this, Abigail went to go fight Dracula to defend Mina, so that way she would not turn into a vampire or be damaged any from him. However, Dracula bit Abigail in this process. Abi was turned into a vampire where she suffered for a few years. During this, she found a way to a magical world called the Enchanted Forest where she met a man named Rumpelstitlskin. She wanted to be rid of the vampyrism and saw it as a medical disease. Rumpelstiltskin had told that it was possible to diminish the vampyrism in her system. All she had to do was make a deal with him. She would have to kill someone in order to be completely alive again, because she was previously undead. After doing this, she was granted the ability to live life without the curse of vampyrism. When she did this, she vowed to protect the entire world, not just Mina, from the forces of evil. Killing monsters would be a massive part of this for her, as Dracula had shown to her that there was much more than science in the world. The thought of something new enthralled her. She wanted to be able to learn all about magic and magical creatures. And killing whatever threatened the lives of the innocent in the world. After learning a bit of magic, she had the capabilities to heal others and to do other various things with spells. She continued to learn more about the magical objects that she found while being in the Enchanted Forest. She would then grow more wisdom about the different magical objects and how they correlate to the detriment of these evil creatures. Abigail would then take her anger out on the different terrible creatures that would create havoc in the Enchanted Forest. She would be paid to kill whatever nuisance harbored in a town. This was her job as she was preparing to kill Dracula. She returned to the Land Without Color. Dracula was no longer able to control her. With thoughts of the possibilities of Dracula killing Mina, she wanted to kill him as well. There was no thought in her mind other than blood lust and her revenge. However, in the process of this, the Dark Curse hit and she was unable to do as she pleased. She was sent to Storybrooke where she was Dr. Lara Stoker in the Storybrooke Hospital. When the curse broke, she wanted to do everything in her power to kill Dracula. Abigail went back on her path to vengeance, to complete her destiny. RP SAMPLE Abigail Van Helsing stood at a crossroads. On the left, there would be a dead friend and an alive enemy. On the right, there would be a dead enemy and an alive friend. But would it be possible to take the left side? Her days of training made her feel the blood running through her veins. She could feel the presence of that damn vampire somewhere in sight. But it wasn't in her power to track her down yet. For all she knew, the disgusting creature could have Mina in a coffin under the ground. Or she could be above ground and being controlled by him. She wasn't too certain if she could kill her best friend. It had been years since she left the Land Without Color. But was it too late to save Mina? As she walked into the pub, she could feel eyes staring at the back of her head. It was only with instinct that she decided to turn around. The man who she had been dreading to see for over half of her life was standing directly in front of her. How had the bastard found me? |
