Fairy Tale Name
Jeff Solaris
PERSONALITY Confused by the magic of Storybrooke, Jeff's more than a little miffed that such power actually exists and he didn't know about it before. Yet he's also curious about the power possessed by them, even though he believes he doesn't need it. Since he doesn't understand said power, Jeff plans to make himself understand it. To that end Jeff is very determined that he will study the abilities of the inhabitants of Storybrooke and learn how such powers actually work and allow them to do things he can't without machinery. Jeff also has a love of gadgets and machinery almost an obsession with them actually. Not a day goes by when he isn't thinking about and/or building machinery actually. Jeff is also determined he isn't going to start believing that their abilities are actually magic as he believes there must be a scientific explanation to their powers and also a scientific way to counter them. While he would never admit this, he's a bit jealous of the magic they possess. It should be noted Jeff is notoriously bad at cooking as in if you ask him to cook you're essentially asking if he wants to burn your house down with you inside it. HISTORY A regular human, Jeff has always been interested in both art and mechanical devices most of his life. Yet when he became a teenager he discovered a set of blueprints and a strange looking journal within his basement. Going down there every day after school he started working on the blueprints and actually trying to build the device that the blueprints specified. The device was a sort of teleportation device that could move a person quickly all the way to New York City. It was a huge contraption and many people believed that the device actually had no chance of succeeding at all because it was simply unstable. Laughed at as he worked on the device, Jeff continued until he made the device actually work. Only it didn't take him to his intended destination. The device instead relocated him to Storybrooke and moved his entire lab there building and all by accident. Now stranded in Storybrooke, Jeff has to make the best of living somewhere that science isn't the only game in town actually, and has to learn how to survive with mages around. RP SAMPLE "This is not New York City. The citizens of the place call it Storybrooke. But I have a better name for the place. A nightmare. The citizens also possess these weird powers that I can't begin to comprehend yet. I will need to analyze and learn about their various abilities. After all, my survival could depend on learning how to handle them. What is wrong with this town? Is there something in the water that provides them superpowers?" Jeff was annoyed that the citizens possessed by this town all seemed to possess powers of some kind or other. When he saw one of the citizens teleport a short distance away from him, Jeff uttered an obscenity before heading back into his lab. What he needed was the power to teleport at will, an ability he presently lacked. "I must crack the code of Teleportation." Yet he didn't want the abilities they wielded because he knew he must be his own person. Rather than steal their powers, he'd learn his own through science. Science Fiction could be actually made into science fact by him if he worked hard at it. After all great scientists spent years studying and so he'd study their powers and perhaps learn how to make powers like theirs his own through the application of science. Abilities/Gadgets: - Mechanical Knowledge: Jeff is a genius when it comes to mechanical devices and this includes programming them and what not. Gadgets he can build: - Hover Car - Plasma Sword - Magnet utilizing guns - Force Field Generator of some sort. - Robots. Other than that, all he can build is standard stuff. |
