❝ Everything that happens ❞
Ever since Neal had gotten back from the Underworld and reunited with Henry, Neal realised there was one person he never really got to know much about, despite the fact that they were connected in a weird way. Henry's adoptive mother Regina.
He remembered him saying that his mother was important to him, and, that was reason enough for Neal to try and get to know her. Of course he wasn't sure whether he trusted her, but, they both cared about Henry, and, no matter what. The two of them would have to interact on several occasions as long as Henry was around, and, they were both in his life.
Neal didn't really know much about Regina, aside from what Henry had told him about her. And, of course the interactions that she had had with his father which led to this whole thing being started in the first place. Of course he'd never asked his father to do any of that, or change other people as part of his own game.
His shift at the animal shelter didn't start until later on today, so he had a bit of time to attempt to have this interaction with Regina, or Mayor Mills as she was known in this town.
Normally authority figures scared him, mainly because of his past, and, the not so good run-ins he'd had with alot of them. Not just cops, but, also just a general sense of social workers and principals. He'd dealt with alot of all three of those things.
He did his best to avoid them, but, now both of the mothers of his son were authority figures in this town. Emma was the Sheriff of this town, and, his other mother was the damn mayor of the whole town.
Before the only powerful person he'd had to deal with was his father. And that was dangerous in its own right.
Neal kept his hands in his jacket, as he made his way out of the Bed and Breakfast, and, walking the short walk to the Mayor's office. Neal just wondered if Regina wouldn't kick him out of her office when he got there.
Taking a soft breath as he reached the door, Neal just looked down for a minute. This whole thing was probably a bad idea, but, he also knew that it would have to happen eventually.
