EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, HAPPENS BY DESIGN. AND THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT IT.
Neal examined the room that his papa was offering him. It had the bare necessities in there, but, not much, but, that didn’t matter. At least the room would be more comfortable then a lot of the places he’d lived in the past, but, there may be one or two things that weren’t quite the same. He still felt somewhat uncomfortable with his father. But, that he knew would just take some time.
He didn’t know why he’d asked his papa to stay, but, there was just something about it he’d missed. Neal smiled softly as his papa turned back around, but, didn’t seem to say anything. Maybe he shouldn’t have asked that. Neal just looked at the ground for a moment, kicking the ground in front of him. Neal then looked back up and returned his papa’s smile.
“Yeah, I do” Neal said, before he turned and made his way into the room, followed by his papa.
It had been a while since he’d had his papa, or anyone next to him to help him fall asleep. When he’d been a kid back in the Forest, he’d always wanted his papa there with him, especially in the first few days since his mother died. Maybe just needing someone to remind him he wasn’t alone, or didn’t have to be scared. Neal had only had that a couple of other times in his whole childhood, but, it hadn’t made his situation any worse.
Neal sat down on the bed, and, just looked at his papa. “Brings back old times doesn’t it papa? You sitting here with me, helping me fall asleep.” Neal sighed softly before feeling a tear escape his eye. “I’ve missed it.”
