EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS, HAPPENS BY DESIGN. FORCES GREATER THEN US CONSPIRE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
Neal had struggled to sleep since he came back from that Underworld. He'd settled back into the Bed and Breakfast, but, something still made him nervous. If he had come back from that place, and, back from the dead, then why couldn't anyone else? And that's what made him nervous, not so much for some of them, but, there were a couple of them that made him really worry, and, was keeping him up late at night.
He still had images of that place, the Underworld, but, they weren't so bad. Neal had dealt with nightmares before, but, these were more real to him then those. Because, Neal could wake up, and, move past them. But, even when he woke up, these new fears couldn't get out of his head no matter what.
Neal was worried that Pan would find a way back to this town, and, he'd be forced back to that place. The place he'd spent a really long time trying to escape. Or even worse, he would come back to take Henry away from him again. Neal couldn't let that thought into his head again, and, he definitely couldn't lose Henry all over again.
He wasn't sure what to do, but, Neal wanted to be around family. For the first time in nearly 2 centuries, he could finally have someone to comfort him. But, he wasn't sure he trusted him enough quite yet. Although, he really wasn't sure what else to do. Neal needed someone to help him, and, his father had given him the dagger. Maybe he was capable of changing. Right now, he just wanted him to be a father, or try to be.
After placing on his hoodie, Neal made his way downstairs as quietly as he could, so as not to wake anybody, before reaching the pavement just in front of the Diner. Looking up at the night sky, Neal saw himself flashing back to his childhood briefly as he would spend his nights trying to stay away from the homes as long as possible.
It wasn't a long walk to his papa's house, and, he stopped just before the door. Neal was suddenly having second thoughts about this, but, it was a little too late to turn back now. Neal was determined once he set his mind to something. He had been his whole life, so, this was no real exception. Besides, he needed some comfort.
He just hoped that his father and Belle wouldn't mind being woken up this late. Especially with Belle and the baby, she probably needed her sleep. Taking a couple of deep breaths, Neal rang the doorbell, and, waited for an answer. Hoping that one of them would be up, or at least let him inside the house.
