The former King of the Pridelands held himself up regally as he looked out over the street. He did not come away from his book store all that often, save only to visit the library when it was necessary, but his research had led him to believe that someone here could help him return to his home, and find his family. That same person was likely the only one who would be able to tell him more about the curse, the spell, or whatever it was that had destroyed his home.
Of course, it was also possible that this sorcerer he put so much faith in was the one that made the curse possible.
It was very strange, sometimes, how linked people who thought themselves strangers might end up being. He had no idea that the man he sought now, the man with a reputation for solving, and making, problems for the denizens of this place, was also the Dark Sorcerer he had once searched for in the Enchanted Forest. The reason he had been caught up in their curse, and brought to this place, away from everything he loved.
He would likely not be happy to find that out.
For now, though, he approached the store with a quiet hope in his chest. He pushed the door inward, the 'open
sign swinging listlessly with the action, and stepped into the Pawn shop slowly. There were curious objects all around him, and he looked around in wonder, not recognizing a lot of what they could be. This world was still mostly strange to him, though he had learned out of necessity how to function here and get through his days of research in peace.
Now, though, it was time to start taking action.
"Mr. Gold?" he called out, his deep voice rumbling through the shop like it was empty.
