The golden-skinned Rumplestiltskin giggled brightly to himself as he walked along a path deep within the Enchanted Forest. Things had gone very well for him- he had managed to make a deal with someone who'd owned something rather interesting. Now, happily, it was in his possession instead. How amusing it was that so many of the people he made deals with had no idea the power their own items already had.
He placed a hand on top of the fabric he had slung over one arm, grinning as he looked down at the embroidered cloak. It was a deep magenta and rimmed with animal fur along the bottom, which like so many other cloaks within the kingdom. This one, however, was so much better than a simple cape and hood- it was sewn with a very powerful magic capable of turning the person who wore the cloak invisible. It had come from the tailor of a very vain king who only cared about the latest fashions. The man had been so frightened of failing his majesty, who would punish him for not presenting the most fashionable clothing available, that he had been willing to trade his invisible cloak for help from the Dark One.
The Dark One, of course, had been happy to cast a spell on the king, making him see the finest of garments whenever the tailor acted like he presented something, even when there was nothing there. From rags to running around completely nude, the king was always happy, and the tailor never had to worry about failing his majesty ever again.
He chuckled again to himself as he continued along the path. Though he really had no use for invisibility himself, he knew someone was bound to enjoy having such a cloak. No doubt it would lead him to another great deal.
And that was really the only thing he cared about.
He moved along with a bounce in his step, the Dark One barely paying attention to his surroundings. Normally, he was much more alert, but nothing made him happier than a good deal and some fun at the expense of others.
