Rumple wasn't used to walking with his cane- it felt like it had been a long time since he'd had to. Of course, it hadn't actually been that long. It must have been only a couple of months since he'd fought with Hook, and he'd gone much longer without using a cane in the past. Hundreds of years, in fact. Maybe it was just because he had his magic and still needed it that made it feel unnatural to him. He still hadn't figured out what had gone wrong. After his foot had been petrified, he had used normal healing magic to try and fix things, but it seemed the spell may have been too powerful, and had reversed not only the petrification magic, but the dark magic Hook had used to heal it, too. And now it seemed he couldn't use the same kind of dark magic to reverse the 'healing' effect and allow him to walk normally again.
What he had done was heal himself TOO well, without actually healing himself at all. Was it because he wasn't used to the boost in power from all the Dark Ones? Was it because something had made the spell fail because of the Underworld creature's magic? He would have to try and figure it out at some point.
But first- he needed to have a chat with Regina.
They had decided to meet at the park, though it seemed as he limped towards the benches that he had arrived first. He sighed softly, sitting himself down on one of the benches, resting his cane to the side. He didn't like having to wait for someone he knew had magic that could teleport her around instantly, but he supposed he didn't expect her to be eager to meet with him, either.
Of everyone in town, his relationship with her was probably one of the most... strained. Mostly because they had spent a very long time trying to screw one another over. He hated her for the various ways she had messed with Belle, and he felt she was less deserving of redemption than even he was, but he also understood what it meant to be a villain who was trying to turn over a new leaf. He knew the pain she had suffered along the path he had helped set for her, and he knew he couldn't blame her entirely for how she had turned out.
He had wanted someone desperate enough to cast his curse for him, and he had helped designed her to be the one. He wasn't blind enough to say he didn't have a hand in her fall. Still, that didn't mean he had to like her.
The only reason he was meeting with her was because he had a lot to discuss with her concerning the rest of her completely insane family.
