It was the dawning of a new era in a strange place, in a strange town as it were. The only thing she remembered was the sea. Of being with Hook aboard the Jolly Roger only to have Rumple find them. But alas she didn't think Rumple would have ripped her heart out, crushing it into dust. Though she had always told Hook that she wanted to be buried at sea if she ever died. Returning to the land of the living was something that she could not explain. It was one of her first days in this place. This small yet quaint town of Storybrooke. Memories of the past were not forgiving. Not when one considered all that she had been through. All the things she had been through had prepared her for this moment. Taking a breath, something she had not done in a very long time. She faced her worries head on as she had been when she had sailed the seas with her love by her side.
To be fair the journey had been short lived, all because of one man's anger. At one point it had been her fault that she had said what she did to Rumple. But she always had been able to get under his skin for whatever reason. To say that their relationship had always been a bad one was an understatement, as for a while there were times where there had been good and precious moments. Like learning they were pregnant, and later having Baelfire. That perhaps had been one of the finer moments of their relationship. In a perfect world, it would have always been the three of them, facing so much together. But alas it did not happen. All because of a coward. Though to be fair she was just as much of a coward as Rumple. Because she could have been honest with the man she once loved.
Being new in town, she gasped seeing the strange things that were not from the world she had once belonged in. Perhaps in a strange way she should have never been here at all. Gasping slightly as she read the name on the door she was approaching, it spelled out "Gold's Pawn shop." Had she known that it was a shop that belonged to her ex-husband she would have run the other way. Mostly because she had hoped to forgive the man who had ripped her heart out, but no. She couldn't. But he wasn't going to get a break from this either. He deserved to pay for what he did. For the pain that he had caused. Yes, she may have been wrong to lie to the man; but what could she do?
The woman was quiet as she opened the door which had said "Open." But seeing as though she had washed up from the sea, with all it's glory behind her. The memories were as ever present as they had always been. Anger was the very minimum of what she was feeling. Years she had lost out on. Years that she wanted back, but would never get. Instincts got the better of her as she still was cautious. The life of a pirate had been good to her when she'd been able to travel and see the world. She deemed it a better life than sitting around stuck with the same "coward for a husband." She had felt guilty more than anything, and saddened that in the midst of the pain she had felt with the marriage that she had left her son to be with Hook. And even though she and Hook had once talked about going back for him before her death it did not end how guilty it was making her feel. And that guilt will never go away.
Feelings like that were more than enough to make a woman like herself go insane. But at the present moment she didn't know what to think of the situation. But alas, she didn't expect to find anyone she knew in this town. It was very different than the life she had once lived in the village with Rumple. But while that memory both haunted her it proved one thing, love was both her biggest weakness and her biggest strength. She just hoped that when this was all said and done, she could find some answers. Why was she here? How did she get here and what did she do now? Taking a deep breath she looked right ahead, hearing a noise coming from the back. She walked as quietly as she could towards it. Only to see someone she did not expect to ever see again. "Rumple." Her voice showed the surprise that she was truly and effectively feeling.
